How to overcome a soda addiction?

I quit cold turkey. Because I knew if I tried to cut back little by little it wouldn't stop..but I know for some people if they start cutting back to none then that works.

I just quit. Don't buy it or have it in the house. It wont take long to get past wanting it. It's not crack. Laughing about 2 years ago I was drinking a lot of diet pop and chewing tons of gum. The more I read about how unhealthy it is and how artificial sweeteners affect your health I knew I wanted to give them both up. Just quit one day. Missed the gum for a few weeks and that was it. Just make up your mind to do it and get it done!

Spend an afternoon looking up the effects of consumption of aritificial sweeteners, High Fructose Corn Syrup, phosphoric acid, factory made concoctions with 100% of their calories from sugar or HFCS and if that doesn't convince you, then seek professional help...lol.   I found that once I convinced myself soda was not only not good for me, but were actually leaching calcium from my bones among other things, I quit without looking back.  I have one once every month or two now when someone offers me one and that's about it.

8 weeks ago I was drinking at least a liter a day and just decided to loose weight so I quit cold turkey and switched to water.  It took about 3 days for the headaches to go away but honestly I don't even miss it now.  I have dropped 26 pounds so far by dropping the soda, calorie counting and exercising.  Good luck to you, you can do it.
