Sodium Free Taco Seasoning

Quote  |  Reply

Well... I just started paying attention to how much sodium I am taking in and what I realized is that I am consuming about 4oomg more than I should be! After I went back and looked and what foods I have been consuming that had huge amounts of sodium, I noticed that taco seasoning packets have over 500mg of sodium per serving. I found this sodium free (depending on your chili powder) recipe.

4 tsp minced onion (I used half powder and half minced)

3 tsp chili powder

1 tsp corn starch

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/8 tsp cayane pepper (i used more)

Mix it all together and add it along with 3/4 cup of water to your meat, cook until it is the consistancy that you want! I enjoyed this recipe, it will replace the packets from now on!
