Hello all. I have been trying to gain weight for a while, but I have always been confused by sodium. Basically, I have been told different things by several different people. Some say that even though I am trying to gain weight, I should still keep my sodium level below 2,500 mg/day if I want to be "healthy." However, other people have said that since I am trying to gain weight, I should take the same route with sodium that I did with fat: I am eating more; therefore, it is inevitable that my carb/protein/fat/sodium intake will increase as well, and I shouldn't worry about it. Which party is right? Is there even a right answer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Hmm, I would say keep it the same. I would that if it's higher than usual, you would be fine too. Sodium would only cause a weight gain because you would be retaining water. If you do up your sodium, make sure you drink enough water!
You don't have to deliberately increase your sodium. Eating more alone will up your sodium.
the only reason i have ever been told to increase sodium is to help my electrolights. salt does that. but i have heart issues and its a "in a bind" trick they taught me after my heart attack.
i used to be scared of salt bc of water weight... now i pour it on everything.
