You should be very worried indeed.  Both that you're purging in the first place (a very dangerous habit) and that you're vomiting blood.  Go to see your doctor about both problems because neither are doing your health any good and you need to get treatment.

Purging is a potentially very dangerous eating disorder.  I hope you will confide in a healthcare professional and seek treatment.  Next time you feel like purging...take a walk. Do some exercise to burn off the calories you just ate.  The acid from purging can eventually erode the enamel on your teeth and cause ulcers in your esophogus etc.  Please try not to this anymore.  Start loving yourself and put yourself first.  You deserve to be kind to your body.

i was bulimic for a few years (more EDNOS and recovering now) but never saw blood. It could be many different things-simply a broken blood vessel, scraped throat etc...but it could also be worse. In general if you see blood talking to a doctor is a good idea.

And if youre afraid of telling them about your ED, if they dont know, tell them you ate something bad and got ill. the most important thing is making sure youre ok physically. Purging is terrible for your health all around, i know from experience...so if you can speak honestly with your doctor to discover the cause

feel better

You should be VERY worried. You have an eating disorder and need to get some help immediately. How old are you? Make an appt. with your Dr. today to discuss your problem. You cannot let this go. Binging, purging, anorexia and any other eating disorders are dangerous. Not worth risking your health to be stick thin. If you are a minor talk to your parents right away. If not make an appt. and get some help before you do serious damage if you have not already.

Blood coming up after purging is extrememely concerning from a health perspective. It means you are doing damage by purging to your stomach, mouth and/or espophagus. Besides the damage bulemia & purging (and restricting) does to your organs and metabolism, it also will destroy your teeth and wear away the protective lining on your esophagus, potentially leading to reflux problems, ulcers and even worse.

We are concerned about you and strongly suggest you seek professional help for your disordered eating patterns immediately before the damage you are doing to yourself goes too far.

Please look at the Eating Disorder Resource thread for information & places to get help. Also check out Matthew Tiemeyer's pages on caloriecount.about.com and about.com.

Also, is there someone you can turn to for help?? Here are some suggestions:

Your parents.  I know this can be a scary one, we all have a load of feelings tied to our parents, but most of them truly want the best for their children.

A school counselor.  This is part of what their job is all about, trying to help students.  They have an enormous amount of information and resources to help you get more help.

A clergymember.  Letting them help you is part of the reason why they signed up.  At the least you get another ear to help talk to you.

An adult friend. Someone whom you can trust and who will be likely to help you do some research on where to go and even make sure you don't chicken out.
