someone advise me on tofu!

I just joined this site and am trying to eat healthier.

I bought some tofu for a curry dish I ended up not making.

So now it's just sitting in my fridge!!!!!

Anyone know any delicious tofu recipes?  I love to cook, so give it to me!~

The simplest thing I do with Tofu is cut it into cubes and make a stirfry with it. Soy sauce and veggies is all I do with it, but seeing that you love to cook I'm sure you can find a more creative sauce to put with it! Enjoy! Tofu is one of my fave things.

I've also had it baked with a pesto sauce YUM, but I have no idea how to do it.

I've just started making tofu and absolutely LOVE it now.  Here is a recipe I made a couple of nights ago that even my kids ate.

I did make a few substitutions.  I used already made spaghetti sauce instead of the tomato sauce mixture and used low fat cheese in place of regular.   I also followed the first reviewers (TORONTOIS) suggestion on how to prepare the tofu for this recipe.  It was a little messy but soooo worth the end result.

Good luck!

thanks so much!!!!!

You can freeze tofu!  cut it in slices or cubes, wrap well and freeze.  It has a firmer texture when defrosted.  After you defrost it, pat it dry with paper towels to remove the moisture.

We have a family recipe called "finger lickin' tofu"...

Basically you slice the tofu, dredge it in scrambled egg and then dredge it in equal parts nutritional yeast and cornmeal.

After all that pan fry it with just a little olive oil.

Its really good with ketchup.  We ate it all the time as kids.  I used it as the first introduction for my non-tofu-initiated husband.

Works best with extra-firm.
