Can someone explain the burn meter?
Can anyone explain the burn meter? When I started with CC in January, the amount that CC told me I would burn was quite a bit higher than the amount of calories they said I needed to eat. Now, after losing 59 pounds, the amount of calories it says I am supposed to eat is higher than the amount of calories I burn. How can that be? I'm still losing, so that's not the problem. I'm just wondering if there is something under the settings that I should be changing.
Does anyone have any ideas?

i tried to respond to this earlier lol but for some reason i couldnt....
you have lost 59 pounds since january?!?!? that's awesome!! you go girl. how are you doing it?
also, i'd like to hear more about the burn meter as i'm trying to figure out how to effectively eat and burn at the same time
Well the burn meter uses your activity level + any extra exercise you add to the log to give you a burned amount for the day you may be burning slightly more than its saying because your metabolism is faster
also if you lost 59 lb and have never changed your calorie target this could probably use some tweaking if you lose weight than you don't need as many calories
so what you want to do is take your information and input it into the burn meter tool under tools and it should give you a calorie number than put the new calorie number in the calories part in your settings.
personally i use this calculator to get how many calories i should eat and burn.
http://phord.com/cc/?m=US&a=1--1-1-1-1-&a mp;q=m-24-182.88-131.82-1.725-0-0-37
for the settings i have on there it says i should eat 2055 calories and burn 3535 thats including the exercise + what i burn without exercise and down at the bottom it says 1067 is what i need to burn with the exercise.
it also has a break down of each deficit type and whats the most deficit that you can have and lose at a good healthy rate
the extra burn could also be things you aren't logging
The top number of the Burn Meter is the total estimated calories you will burn the entire day. This number is based of the activity level that you chose in your Account Settings.
The bottom number displays how many calories you have burned up to that point. The time will be displayed right below the meters. This number will increase as you add activities to your Activity Log.

I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, whole grain breads, and drink a lot of water. No more midnight snacks. I still allow myself a little treat (like half of a york peppermint pattie), but now it's done in moderation. I really watch portions. I still go out to eat. I just eat seafood or chicken and I always make sure I have a big salad. Also, exercise is something I do regularly now. I have 36 pounds to go. Wish me luck!

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
