can someone help me out here?
so i binged on like 1000 calories on top of my daily intake of like 1400 calories. If I eat normal tomorrow, don't restrict or undereat to compensate for the binge, will my body adjust like it was?
I had a massive binging session on chocolate, lots of chocolate and ice cream. My stomach hurts and I feel extremely guilty.
Please, anyone who have experience the same, share how you dealt with it and the outcome of your actions after the binge.
Thanks!

it was only 1000 calories, no big deal! seriously, 1000 calories is OKAAY> :D
you don't have to compensate for it either, everything will be okay in the grand scheme of things. ^_^
I don't really know what you mean by "will my body adjust like it was". Do you mean will you continue to loose? If you have your normal 1400 cal day over the next several days it will offset the binge, it will just take a little longer. Not too much though depending on what your body actually burns. If you normally BURN (have maintenance calories) 2000 and ate 400 you only "gained" those 400 which you could easily get rid of in a couple of days.
I just feel so defeated. :(
On the weight-loss journey you're going to slip up from time to time. Slipping up isn't anything to feel bad about. Nobody is perfect... Think of it as breaking the speed limit in your car occasionally. Do you break the speed limit, berate yourself, feel defeated or wracked with guilt, sob loudly and then run three red lights just to make things worse? Or do you break the speed limit, think 'whoops, I mustn't do that again', and keep a closer eye on the speedo in future?
Put mistakes behind you. Don't try to compensate, just do your best. Every day is a fresh start.
It's time you accepted that the reason your body binges is because it wants to gain weight in order to be healthy. You're underweight and you need to gain weight, so why worry about this binge making you gain weight? Hopefully it has, because weight gain is a step in the right direction.
gi-jane thanks. you're just always there to help. what would all the cc members do w/o you!

i weighted myself this morning, up 2 pounds.
the day before yesterday I overate by 1800 cals and the next day I was up 2lbs but today I was only 1/2lb over which is what I should be considering I ate 1/2lb of calories over.
I did a similar thing last night I went over about 1600 calories, my daily allowance is 3150. I ate some chocolate cake, but mostly salty snacks at a party. It was nervous eating of food within easy reach. This morning I'm up 2.6 lbs, but I'm not to worried. I'll burn it off in a couple of days. My first goal weight date isn't until October, plenty of time. If you are at your goal weight, the calories will just blend in to the average over time for you.
My advice is just go on with a fresh start like someone before me suggested.

1000 extra calories won't make a scrap of difference if the rest of your week has been reasonably on target. Just go back to your normal, healthy diet as best you can. Feeling guilty or defeated isn't constructive. Put it behind you, give the next day your best shot.... fresh start.

I love this analogy! After the (gasp!) cheetos I ate yesterday I will not run any more red lights!!! They make me retain water. ![]()

To gain 2 real pounds, you would need to eat 7000 calories above your MAINTENANCE calories (which I can tell you is NOT 1400). What you gained is just water weight or the weight of the food you ate. Relax 1000 calories is nothing, it's a FRACTION of a lb. What you need to address is WHY you "binged" and how to stop it. Probably 1400 calories IS NOT ENOUGH for you and you need to eat more and maybe gain some weight.
