okay, can someone PLEASE give me an ACCURATE answer - how many calories is plain COOKED chicken???

per google, and this site, i keep seeing anywhere from 20-50 cals per ounce. i don't know how to count it and its bugging me.

I'm talking, boneless, skinless, chicken breast - cooked in a pan with a little pam. no additional oil, no additional calories of any kind. not roasted with skin, not cooked on the bone. just bare, boneless, skinless BREAST meat.

how many calories in 1 oz cooked???? i weigh my chicken after its cooked through. I've been counting 3 oz cooked, prepared as above at 150 cals - but i see people mention much different calorie counts on here and i think I'm over counting by a lot??

please.. anyone???? thanks :)

You should count it before it's cooked. It is more accurate since depending on how long you cook it the weight will be different.

Go with Chicken Breast, meat only, roasted.....  45 cals per ounce.  That's the nearest to what you describe.  150 cals wasn't so far out.

I cook mine the same way, or on the Foreman grill without adding anything.  I always log it as uncooked chicken, if you search 'chicken' it's like the 4th one down, I think it's a Tyson brand.  It's most accurate as someone above said that depending on how it's cooked/how long it will weigh differently, and I think that chicken roasted, meat only is inaccurate because it assumes it was cooked with the skin allowing a lot more fat to baste the meat while cooking.

Hope that helps! This is the one I was talking about: (Tyson Foods) Fresh Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts - Chicken Products/Uncooked Chicken Products/Fresh Chicken

Oh yeah, but if you do that you'll have to weigh it before you cook it!!

I buy the 20lb bags of frozen chicken breast, and on the back of the bag it says that there are 150 calories/4 oz  breast.  Of course they also mention on the bag that most pieces are 5 oz, so I still have to weigh and calculate.  Either way, I use 37.5 cals/oz.  You may not find an exact number, but it looks like about 40/cals per ounce is a good average to use.

I buy a big bag too, and mine says 110 for 4 oz.
