Weight Loss

My eating disorder is acting up..I don't know any other way to put it but that. I've been eating 206 calories per day and exercising for 80 minutes on the stationary bike at a moderate pace (19mph), for the past 17 days. I feel completely sick. Stomachache, migraine, dizzy, and shakey. But strangely, I have more energy than I normally have..starving always has this tendency to make me extremely alert and gives me insomnia..I think that's one of the main reasons I keep going back to it.
But..I know this is harmful for my health. I do. I am already feeling the affects after only 17 days. But in those 17 days, I've lost 8 lbs. So you can see..why I really don't want to stop..I'm losing weight FAST.
I already know all the health risks. I'm not posting to have them thrown at me. I'm posting so you guys can tell me why slow weight loss is worth it..why taking a year or two years to lose the weight is fine..and why killing myself over this is silly.
thanks.

Since you know the health risks I won't throw them at you.:) And you are right, silly, silly, silly! Those eight pounds are going to come back on as soon as you start eating again....and you need to start eating again....right? Do you have someone around you can talk to? Or maybe see a counselor?
Please feel free to add me to your friends list. I would be happy to talk more if you want.:)

The worst part is you're losing muscle.
Lost muscle means a slower body.
A slower body means when you start to eat you'll gain back a higher percentage of fat then before.
Repeat the cycle and you can guess how bad it'll get.

Won't yell at you, maybe slap you thou. Listen, I think you know what the deal is. You are choosing to ruin your body.
If you know what the health risks are, why are you doing it?
Only suggestion is to up your calories to at least 1200, stay with your exercise. Lose 1-2lbs per week and those pounds are gone.
You eat less in a day then I do for breakfast, and I've lost 71lbs.
You should seek out help if you aren't determined to eat healthy. There are many professionals that will and want to help.
With your symptoms, you going to fricken passout.
Good Luck

Agreed, how's eating 206 cals and exercising 80mins a day for the rest of your life sound (which wouldn't be too long).
As it's been 17 days, when you do start eating again the weight will come back fast, but it will level out once your systems kick in.
I know a girl who maintains 104lbs and she eats 1700 cals a day.

Right now, your body is slowly shutting down. Your blood pressure is low, because your heart is trying to conserve energy. This is why you are feeling dizzy, and faint. Your blood sugar is basement low, and therefore, your brain is starving. Our brains need glucose (the sugar found in the foods we eat) to function. You are killing your brain cells. Furthermore, your body is desperate for nutrition. Therefore, it is eating precious muscle. This is muscle that us CC people work so hard to gain! This muscle works FOR you by burning calories while you are sitting doing nothing. This muscle keeps you strong.
I now that losing weight fast seems too tempting. But you know that it is not permanent weight loss. You want life-long, healthy weight loss.
We urge you to be healthy and happy. For that, you must do this the right way!

Thanks everyone. I've decided to up my calories to 431 per day and to increase my exercise by 10 minutes for the first week, then up my calories to 600, then to 700, etc, until I get to 1100 calories a day. Thanks, really :)
431 ? What's so magical about that number.
You seriously need intervention.
You seriously need intervention.
Nothing is "magical" about 431; that's just what eating two servings of Kashi Go lean with Silk soymilk adds up to.
Uping your calories by so little won't fix the problem of being in
starvation mode. You really need to eat more than that.
Please, please go and see a professional who can help you through not
only the health issues but also the mental issues.
Good Luck then, I'm done
I think you need to eat and stop excercise for a time get your body back into shape .
When people say you are losing muscle do you realize this also included the heart - it is one muscle that once you start to lose won't go back.

grr. No one is listening to me...I said I'm going to up my calories gradually, the first week I'll up to 431, then second to 600, the third to 700, the fourth to 800, the fifth to 900, the sixth to 1000, and the seventh to 1100. So in seven weeks (less than 2 months), I'll be eating 1100 per day. Which should put me out of starvation mode and the danger zone.
I'm doing it gradually, so that my metabolism can adjust and not get a huge shock.
Canadianchick, it wasn't my intention to cause anybody to be mad, frustrated, angry, etc. Thank-you for your help, and feel free to be "done" if you wish.

dbackerfan that's a good point about the heart. I had never thought about that:)
ilisa I think people just get frustrated with some of these girls on the forum. They post just for attention and don't take any of the advice we are giving them. I am glad you are going to up your calories. However you need to do it, as long as you eating more. I still think you need to talk to a professional to help you through it. So please think about it.:)

Couldnt you start eating an extra 100 cals a day instead of going up 200 a week. Thats still 7 weeks of eating too little cals and 7 weeks to damage your body in.
christinak74, I know I really do need to go to a professional, probably a therapist and a nutritonist, but I'm really too scared to. I seriously think that they'll just laugh at me, since I'm overweight.
If I was somebody else, and reading this, I'd probably get frustrated at me too. But I AM trying to do better and change, reading the information about the heart and brain really is motivating me to up my calories.
skinnieminnie86, I could up it 100 cals a day, but that is too scary to me..I'd rather up it 200 a week, so that my metabolism has time to adjust to the higher, normal intake.

Also, I just thought I'd add that I'm not posting for attention. I've had an eating disorder since 2004, and I've had my ups and downs with it, and right now just happens to me once of my downs, and I wanted some support to help me through it.
It's good that you are increasing your food, but why the exercise? Take your time, why do you insist on losing so quickly? Have you posted your current weight and goals? Please take this seriously before you kill yourself.
Believe me hun, they won't laugh at you. They will do everything they can to help you. But you also have to help yourself.....It's up to you to take that first step:)
jm101dm - I like exercising..I don't think 90 minutes is that much, considering for the rest of the day I don't do much of anything. My current weight is 132 lbs. I'm 4'11" and 18 years old. My current goal is 92 lbs.
christinak74 - I don't know, I just don't think I could handle getting help for an eating disorder when I'm overweight. They'd be like, "Ha-ha-ha, yeah right, you don't have an eating problem, just put the fork!"

um, I meant "put down the fork".
