someone please tell me what im doing wrong, i am really desperate

Quote  |  Reply

its been a month and a little bit of this calorie counting diet, ive slipped up a few times but not majorly, and certainly not like how i used to binge.

i thought since ive stopped my horrid daily episodes of binge eating every night the weight would of dropped off even a little by now

i just feel so depressed, the scale has NOT moved.

i dont do much exercise and i really want to but right now i literally have no time because my exams are very soon so i find that when i wake up at 6am and go for a run im too tired in the afternoon to study

but ive heard that if you start exercising after a while you kind of gain energy from exercising? like i wont be as tired and have more energy throughout the day? or no..

do you think im not losing weight because of the exercise?

im at last straw, i feel so hopeless i hate myself and i hate my weight and the way i look i cant stand to look at myself in mirror anymore and i just feel like giving up on life pathetic i know.

thanks

Well if that is your picture that you posted, you don't need to lose any weight.
The closer you are to your goal the harder it is to lose.
Just keep eating healthy, stick to your calorie target each day and live your life the way you want to live it at your goal weight.
You need to have a positive attitude to achieve anything in life that is worth having.  You also need obtainable goals.  If you are searching for weight loss just for a number on the scale, you are doing yourself an injustice.  Being the healthiest person that you can be is so much better than a number on the scale.
Also if you are not happy with yourself as you are now, you will not be happy with yourself just because the scale reads what you want it to.

Don't worry, be happy;-)

A suggestion:

After doing some easy, but necessary stretching, try the following:

After waking up in the morning, do some kind of fairly vigorous exercise (but work your way up to it--don't start out going "overboard") such as jumping jacks, rapid sit-ups, running/walking in place, or a vigorous short walk.  Do, for example, a 15-30 (once you get in "shape" to reach this point) burst of exercise.  Don't do so much that you "hate" doing exercising, but do enough that you get an "energy rush." Again, only do enough so that you don't go to bed dreading the next morning because you have to do a workout.  But do give yourself a chance to see if exercising, even a short time, will help energize you.

My point is that I truly believe you will find that even a brief high-energy workout will definitely stimulate you for the rest of the day.

If you do try this, ease into it so you don't pull any muscles or do any other harm to your body.  Your muscles should feel somewhat sore the next day, but they definitely should not hurt.

It sounds as if your metabolism might be a culprit! Do you eat breakfast before you run? If not- the excercise wont be as effective- your metabolism wont get a jump start until you feed it in the morning- like a car on empty- it wont go without gas! Stop hating yourself and your weight- negative feeling also hinder weight loss. It is what it is and you move on from there. And excercise does indeed increase energy- are you eating three meals a day. you also said you quit binging- where you binging because you werent eating throughout the day? when we get ourselves so hungry from trying to diet sometimes that leads to binging. Dont give up- just take on a few new stragegies- eat breakfast before your run. warm up your muscles before your run. Think about everything you do- and even the least amount of movement burns calories- so take extra steps- get up from a chair one more time, take the steps instead of an elevator- park your car further away from a door etc. And dont forget- your body is adjusting to change at this time- so in order to get things on track you may need to be patient! Good luck!

I just want to jump in to say that, if you truly feel like you hate yourself and that maybe you'd rather not live anymore, please talk to someone about how you feel. Find a trusted friend, family member, clergy member/pastor or counselor and let them know you've been struggling inside.  We want you to be healthy and happy - please find someone and reach out today.  There is always hope!
