can someone reccomend some music for me?

I always find it difficult to find music I like. Sometimes I'll really like one song, but not the rest of an album or artists music. i like different genres too, but usually rock. some indie, alternative, some ska, some indie, some hard rock, it really varies. so here are some of my favorite songs, can anyone reccomend any artists for me?

AFI: the missing frame, last caress, miss murder

Billy tallent: Prisoner of today, cut the curtains

Misfits: she, some kinda hate, attitute

Vampire weekend: A-punk

Arch enemy: enemy within, burning angel

Hole: awful, celebrity skin

Courney love: the zeppelin song

Motley Crue: kickstart my heart, take me to the top, same ol situation

Rancid: olympia

Metallica: the unforgiven

cradle of filth: castlevania, absynthe with faust

Arctic monkeys: D is for dangerous, balaklava

Avenged sevelfold: trashed and scattered, and all things will end, strength of the world

 

and there is tons and tons more....sooo....can anyone reccomend any artists or full albums for me?

Make a new station, give them a list of your favorite songs and they will analyze what the songs have in common to make reccommendations for you. I get a lot of new music ideas from them and then download the stuff on other sites.

Motley Crue is my favourite band! You can check out more 80's hair metal bands for similar music. :)

i don't know if you use itunes but the newest versions have a feature called genius which recommends songs you may like based on what you already have, definitely try it out, i love it. good luck :]

Along a similar vein as the 'pandora' selection, try lastfm.com - it compiles a selection of artists that you would like based on current music tastes...

if you like Vampire Weekend, then MGMT is pretty similar - Kids is a great track.  I'd also suggest the Editors, Joy Division (if you're in the mood for some classic tunes), maybe We Are Scientists - the first album only though, judging by your choice of tunes you like the rockier side of music...

One can never go wrong with some David Bowie. =] Maybe Art Brut, a bit of Blood Red shoes, and The Smiths are all good too.

Something that might be fun for you is Korn. I enjoy their music. It is kind of deep but the beat will keep you moving. I listen to this while working out. I like all of their songs. You can just type in Korn in google and they will give you a list of their songs. For sure check out "Freak on a Leash" and their version of "Brick in the wall."

I know this is really specific, but if you like motley crue at all, you might wanna try other metal/punk bands of the era.. from hanoi rocks, poison, and def leppard to the new york dolls and johnny thunders & the heartbreakers [some of my personal favorites] (:

OOooohhh... I feel ya. I don't like main stream radio music, so I rely on two othe resources.  One is NPR.org "All Songs Considered" - it's kinda like a music blog with cool people who know their stuff and how to talk about it.  You can hear their 2008 Year in Review online and it showcases some great music... and get their song of the day, usually.  Then (and this is 'my' thing) I go to http://music.download.com/ to find free MP3s for download.  I'll search any and every band I've heard of during the week, but bewar, not every band is listed or has free stuff; but there are always "sounds like" picks and "if you like then try" options... plus editor reviews which, once you learn how to rely on them, will help you decided if something is worth it or just a bunch of noise.   Have fun!

Three Days Grace.  Franz Ferdinand, especially their latest album.  Along slightly more indie-kid lines, maybe Maximo Park, Hard-Fi, Kasier Chiefs..  Radiohead (I am firmly of the belief that a little bit of Radiohead makes everything better, but I'm sure there are those who disagree)

last.fm definitely is worth checking out, if you wanna find new music, though I personally have gotten very mixed results from it.

Radiohead does make everything better.
