Could someone review my calorie level and nutrient breakdown
Ok, so I am 5'4" around 200lb female, want to loose around 50 more lbs (maybe more). So I am going to be doing Power 90 workout and plan to eat around 1500 cals per day. Trying to eat clean and follow the food pyramid. My nutrient breakdown today will be 58% carbs, 21% protien, 19% fat. Does this sound right? Any advice would be welcome thanks!
If the Power 90 workout means you'll be physically active for more than a light half hour every day you might find it helps to start at a higher level than 1500 so that you've got the energy and nourishment to keep going through as long as it takes to lose the full 50lbs... And that's the real task ahead.
There's no magic combination of macro-nutrients that will make the job easier but the benchmarks of 40-65% carbohydrate, 15-25% protein, and 25-30% fats isn't a bad one to work with.

Thanks! Yes, the workout is 30 or more 6 days a week. I am always second guessing myself on my calorie level intake. I just get so many different levels CC says 1400, Mayo clinic 1200; just makes me so unsure of how much I should be eating. Do you recommend a great calculator for calorie intake level or BMR?
Use CC and set it to 'moderate' activity level.... You dont' mention how old you are but assuming you're between 21 and 30 I make it that you need nearer 1700-1900 a day to lose if you're exercising vigorously for more than half an hour most days of the week.
It's always better to start a little higher and see how it goes. Just improving your food choices and getting more exercise often has a big effect. If/when the weight-loss slows down, review your intake and trim it if necessary. This isn't so easy if you start too low.

LOL! Thanks, I'm 32! I used CC and set it to moderate. This gave me an intake of 1733 per day. So, I gonna go with this to see how it goes. Thanks!
Just to give you some positive news.
I was 210 pounds when I started and have lost 50 pounds without focusing on breaking down my nutrients etc. I simply ate the recommended calorie intake, tried to have a balanced meal (still including 20 grams of chocolate per day) didn't become too restricted and walked every day to and from work. I had a 500-700 calorie deficit in my eating vs burning and it worked a treat without being too restrictive or too obsessed.
Remember, by reducing your calories you naturally start eating healthier as you learn that the higher the calories the less food you can eat for the day lol.
If you want any support let me know.
