Someone asked for a thread on 60 and over; how about 55 and over..............
...and I'm not talking about the speed limit - age of course. I think it would be a great thing since there are many things in the way of health, that come into 'play' after we get into the 55+ category.
I don't need to list the many new 'changes' our bodies go through; we're all pretty aware of that. Two days ago I got a pretty long (yet very funny) e-mail about the 'age stuff'. Some of the 'female' signs of aging were: #1 - You sell your home-heating system at a yard sale (this is when you're in the first stage of Menopause). #2 - You have to write post-a-notes with your kids' names on them. #3 - You change your underwear after you sneeze.
Other signals: Old is when: #1 - Going braless pulls the wrinkles out of your face. #2 - You don't have to go where your spouse goes, just so long as you don't have to go along! #3 - Getting a little action means I don't need fiber today. #4 - Getting lucky means you find your car in the parking lot. #5 - An 'all-nighter' means getting up to pee.
Now that you've had your 'chuckle', we can 'get serious'. This can reach beyond just the need to lose (or gain) weight; getting the right foods, but we could share some of the situations we find our individual selves in, and possibly share some of the resolutions we've come to; how 'we've succeeded' in handling these transitional years.
By now we've all gone 'over the hill'; joined that 'gang. Then we climbed the mountain (we're still climbing now). Once we get to the top of the mountain, we might be pretty worn out. No doubt, we'll take a look back before we go OVER the mount, and if that's the path to Heaven, we won't have to write on this web-site anymore.
I'll start it; we can all join in. Diane![]()
Hi - boy, you are so right about those younger doctors. The one I have is my SON'S age (and I remember my first one being the age of my grand-father).
I guess that 'loss of control', is what they call 'aging', and our bodies aren't designed to last forever (at least not so far).
It would be nice if this site could set up categories (age-wise), that we could just 'jump into' when we join. I learned that the youngest one can be is 13 years old, so 13 to 19 would be good; 20 to 35 another, 36 to 50 would work well, then 55 and over - possibly 70 and 'beyond'. We' wind up in a 'room' where we were sharing more than just a weight condition; we'd talk about over-all health, and other things in our lives that were more in common because of our age.
I've tagged this; will visit periodically to get updates and see what others have said. Diane

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
