Its 8:30pm here and I haven't eaten for 6 hours so I need dinner but I only have 150 cals left for the day. Unfortunately tomorrow I have to sit in my office working all day so there's no time for exercise (same goes for the rest of the next week) and I'm going out for dinner in a pub so that's going to hit hard.
So I have no way of compensating for going overboard today and the only other option is eating REALLY low cal.
Any suggestions?
if you go 100 or 200 calories over your regular calorie allowance it wont really matter for ONE day. In fact, if you really need to, its ok to eat up to maintenance level for a day!
Some low cal ideas though are: soup with toast, salads, poached or scrambled (with a little milk) eggs, a vege stir fry with soy sauce. :)
or you could roast up a mess of veggies.
you can sautee something like a pound of spinach for 80 cal.
Hope that fills me :oS I really want to eat all this lovely fruit I bought this week afterwards with some yoghurt and honey...aarrrgh!
You say there is no time for exercise during the work day, I can tell you ways that there is.
What if you were step out of the office and add in a walk on your lunch break?? Or even do some stairs??? You don't have to stay in the office then entire day, it actually feels good to get some movement during the day....you won't feel so tired and stiff in the afternoon I guarantee.
I walk every day on my lunch break at work. One hour is far too long for lunch anyway. It only takes about 20 min to eat my lunch and then I use the other 40 min to walk. For me 40 min walk at 3.5mph is about 150 calories burned. All those walks throughout the week add up. Sometimes if it is too cold outside for walking, I do the stairs inside the building....I will go all the way down then walk up which takes about 15 min total for the 25th floor...that's like 122 cal right there!!! I pack a deodorant and body spray in my purse for a pick up afterwards.
Ok so this might sound weird but at the office another way to burn a few extra calories here and there is to take the stairs to a different floor when you take a washroom break at work. I work on the 25th floor however I frequent the washrooms on 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27!!! I hardly ever use the one on the 25th :}
So FUNNY!! I'm not laughing at you but I was sitting at my desk with a tub of the SAME exact stuff dipping celery sticks into and the thought wen't through my head "hey what if I eat the whole thing?" I even went so far as to calculate the calories in the whole tub.
it's not the end of the world. Just eat a sensible dinner and course correct now. Don't eat another tub tomorrow and voila, you're back on track!
