Having something sweet everyday?
Is this okay? Often after dinner I get a sweet tooth. It dosent take much to satisfy it. If the desert stays within my calories for the day do you think it would be fine to have it every day? What are your thoughts on this?
I have something sweet every single day, in fact I would say that I eat 2-3 snacks daily that I fit into my calorie goals. It works for me and it keeps me happy and sane. you don't have to completely deprive yourself to reach your goals.
In my opinion, sure! If I want something sweet, I'll have a couple sugar-free pudding cups (60 cals each), or two sugar-free Fudgsicles (40 cals each), or some frozen grapes, or two tablespoons of Cool Whip mixed with one teaspoon of peanut butter and dip it with a 100-calorie pack of Oreo Crisps (about 200 cals total). Someone else on here had a neat idea: One cup of frozen, unsweetened, sliced peaches. Microwave for three minutes, mix with two packets of Splenda, top with two tablespoons of Cool Whip and a sprinkle of cinammon, microwave for another 30 seconds (about 100 cals total). I don't really have a sweet tooth, but I keep these things on hand just in case, and enjoy them two-three times a week.

Great! (: Glad to hear. Can I ask what those snacks usually are though? I am just curious aha.

Thanks for all the recipies! Thats awesome. I never had a sweet tooth untill I had this life stlye change. Like I remember a year ago I would say no to ice cream, cookies, ect! I think its more of a forbidden food tooth aha. Once I deprived myself from it and said no I can't have it I suddenly craved it. Its so weird.
i will eat a chocolate chip granola bar, popcorn with cinnamon and sugar, a piece of fruit, a couple mini chocolates, ice cream, or homemade brownies, store bought mini blueberry muffins for about 150 cals. there's a ton of options if you just make it fit and account for it!! :)
You're very welcome, darkbeam. My real downfall, as far as sweets go, used to be Ben & Jerry's Reese's peanut butter cup ice cream. Haven't had any for over three months now, and I'm surviving just fine.
LOLOL And, hey, should you have the urge for something crispy and salty, give the Special K crackers (both multi-grain and Italian) a try. Only 90 calories for 17 crackers, or 120 calories for 24 crackers. The multi-grain ones are similar to Wheat Thins.
Have a happy and safe holiday weekend, darkbeam!

LOL! Nice one! And yeah I saw those on my tv recently. They look nice but I think if I want something like that I will stay with my reduced fat wheat thins!
Also holiday? :O I am not on any holidays right now. But if you are celebrating one happy holiday :)
I've been losing pretty well and I have multiple sweet things a day. Sometimes I skip a meal and use those calories for snacks for just when I'm hungry. As long as my calories are good, I take my vitamins, and eat the right amount of healthy stuff to balance it out, I'm good. (Haha well I try to eat green veggies at LEAST once a day... I know that's bad..but I HATE them.) I would never have been able to come this far if I wasn't here. Knowing that I'm in my calorie limit, I'm guilt-free. Even if I eat sweet stuff, it's awesome cause I don't have to worry about gaining. I just lose more and more. :) It's amazing to me.
My favorites right now are dried fruit. Dried dates and figs are AWESOME for satisfying a craving-rich, sweet and exotic, high in fiber and iron. They are yummy chopped into yogurt or cottage cheese.
We also have a local ice cream place where they serve the yummiest hand churned ice cream in kiddie cups. At 150 calories for a serving, I find thats quite a treat!
I totally agree with people who say they fit them into their calories. As long as you dont go overboard with portion sizes, love your sweets!
I have dessert practically every day. It's a necessity for me.
I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners, so I go for small quantities of the good stuff. A couple of squares of fancy chocolate, low fat ice cream (skinny cow and Edy's slow churned are my favorite brands!), frozen yogurt, chocolate pudding and so on.
One of my favorite decadent desserts is to heat a VitaTop chocolate muffin top in the microwave till hot and the chips are all melty and have it with a half cup edy's slow churned vanilla bean ice cream. It seems utterly decadent but it's only 200 calories.
Absolutely, for me I would be far more likely to go over the top if I wasn't allowed something very scrummy every day.
Having said that often it is just a 10 gram square of good plain chocolate or an ice lolly.
Local to me a supermarket chain make their own brand lemon sorbet lollies, they are delicious and only have 24 calories in a 60 gram lolly. They certainly taste far more indulgent than 24 calories. They are prinicpally responsible for me staying on track because i can have two a day if i wish as part of my lunch and dinner. However I usually only have one for dinner :o)
I definitely have something sweet every day! I don't have a super sugary sweet tooth so store-bought deserts are usually a little rich and I usually cut the sugar by at least half in home-made recipes.
I do typicall have chocolate every day -- 2 pieces (~50 cals) (at least
) of 85% Black and Green's organic and/or home made hot cocoa at night (skim milk, cocoa powder, a touch of sugar, and a dash of vanilla extract, and sometimes some cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger).
I'll have desert maybe 3 days a week. My favorite deserts are home-made rice pudding made with skim milk, chewy chocolate-walnut cookies, meringues, banana-blueberry bread, and apple crisp/crumble. I'm not really into artificial sweetners, but you could always sub in Splenda or whatever to the home made stuff. I also like So Delicious soy ice cream sandwiches, and have gelato every so often for an extra special treat...mmmmmm...my mouth is watering!
hiya again,
am wat i would say is that your body likes variety and if you register that u get something sweet everyday your body will always crave more, so u might by accident get a larger portion or something
i would advise you to try some fruit. i love grapes and granny smith apples myself helps cure the sweet tooth, i have a major one myself too!
see ya,
unouno
