5'10" 20 something and trying to loose about 30lbs....need a buddy to help me not fall of the wagon..AGAIN!
O.k. So I am new at this game at this site. I have tried others...I am 5'10" and 165lbs. I actually do hit the gym 2 times a week at least with a trainer for an hour. But because I am lazy or unmotivated my eating blows! So I don't really eat so well thus no real wt loss. Oh, I also have a 3 year old daughter so I do want to try to pass down some good eating habits.
I am looking for someone that is in the similar predicament....can't be the only one :)
Yea I know how you feel. I'm 5'11 and 175lbs. I want to weight 160 by the end of november and just can't seem to lose any weight. I go to the gym about 3 times a week but I need to go more often. I also try to stay on a healthy diet but by about wednesday that falls through too.
If you know of any good healthy meals or some great work out programs feel free to share!
WOW.. I'm trying to get to where yall are at....lol...I'm 5'11 199, 28yr old. This is a good site, I started on July 11, I have since lost 6pounds and added muscle. Also lost some inches as well. Have gotten a lot of compliments in the last month on my weight lost. I usually try to workout 5 times a week for about 30-80 depending on the day and how I feel. I strength train 3 times a week. I usually eat between 1500-1700 cals a day. I am obsessed with my scale, I weigh in everyday...lol, most days I get on the scale at least 3-4 t times a day, but I can handle the fluctuations that I have. I'm just happy to be seeing a 1 in front of my weight..lol, anyways, welcome to CC![]()
I am another twenty something 5"10 175 lbs. It is hard for me because I don't think I necessarily look bad, but I know I can look much better. Getting to the gym is hard, but recently I have been doing much better with my eating because I cook allllll my lunch and dinner. I pack it and bring it in to work, and that saves me money and lots of calories. I also don't drink sugar: no orange juice, no soda. Only milk water and and occasional diet soda. I only eat out once a week (on my cheat day, normally Saturday). But yeah, motivation with the working out is always so low....
Well, I am glad to see I am not the only one. Trinikim thanks for the tips. I will try but i am so not motivated sometimes....I find because I am tall I do carry it pretty well unless in I am in a swimsuit then not so much. Hopefully we can call get support from each other and it will up us all.
I don't want to discourage anyone from using this site...
However, if meal planning is difficult for you... try Sparkpeople.com
It's like myspace for dieters. (my user name is hotazmama) I have a spark page and blog that I update once in a while. There is a HUGE community! You can add buddies. Join teams (and if you can't find one to suit your needs you can create one) There is a nutrition and fitness tracker.
It is pretty much similar to this site (I use the two together for the food database).
But the best feature for me, was the meal planner. The tool will take your recommended daily calories, fat, sodium, cholesterol, and protein and using the food pyramid and it's database of meals, create a weekly printable meal plan and grocery list (you can even view days months in advance). You can change out what you don't want, and create recipes and add it to the meal planner as well.
I just found out today that I can track my food via my phone since the site is now mobile!
I've been with them 3 weeks and I am still learning new things. Sounds great huh? And guess what? It's absolutely free!
Feel free to look me up if you check it out! (HOTAZMAMA)
Hugs,
Nay
This is a good place for support. I wish you all the best.
I have the exact measures as you (5'10 and just a little under 165lbs) and have been working on this for the past 2 months. I'm not going to lie, it sucks to have to refrain yourself, but cc has been a great help. Honestly, just being true to your log makes you behave better. I don't feel like I have been dieting, I have been eating less and stopped eating out every night which has helped tremendously. Since I have been here I have lost 7 lbs, which is slow, but surely coming off :) I hope to loose another 15 lbs. I think 150lbs is a good weight for me.
How come you are thinking of loosing 30 lbs? I'm curious what is a normal weight for someone my size since I don't actually know any girls my height and the ones I do are practically models...
Wow, I feel like I have met my twins. I'm 5'9 and weigh 165. I started out on this site in January (at 177 lbs) and managed to get down to the 150's (in May), however, because of a lot of stress over the summer I gained some of the weight back. I'm very focused now and I'd like to go down to 150 by January. (I'm going to Brazil in January so I just have to lose it all lol
)
It is true, because we are tall, we do carry it well, but there are always those problem areas that we have to work on. For me it's the arms and belly....gotta tone up!!!!
Good luck ladies!
