20 something's or 50-75lbs group??

Hi,

I'm new to the site and looking to find a group for 20 something's or those with 50-75lbs to lose.  I want to lose 60.  Any suggestions?

When you find that group of peopel please let me know.  I need to loose 75 bls, but starting with the first 45 to get to 200 even for starters. Every thread I read is fo someone who weighs 130 trying to get to 120.

I am not 20 something but I do have the weight number.  If you are just looking for some one to check in with you daily...let me know..I need the same.

When I started my weight loss journey I weighed about 210 (I didn't have a scale at the time) and I now weigh about 185 (give or take a pound).

I am trying to get to 115 or 120 (or what ever feels comfy). SO that is about 70 more pounds.

I must say though, the 25lbs I have lost have made me feel alot more comfortable in my skin. I can't wait to see how I will fill when I reach  my goal.

PS: I'm not quite 20 yet...but I will be in about 6 months.

 

I know what you mean about the 120's. I know everyone is different and want to lose for diffrent reasons but surely there are more of us out there that aren't at ideal weight.

I'm 25, I started in January at 215 and I am at 185 currently. I have set my first goal at 160, I didn't want to push it and small goals seem to be easier to obtian. When I get to 160 I'll rethink the final goal.

I'll totally be in your group!  I'm 25.. started at 260, now I'm sitting at around 230 (give or take a pound of water weight).  I started in January and lost consistently through April.  Since April, I've been maintaining. I need to jump start again and get the rest of this weight off.  Like Sbatt said, my goal is also 160.  And then I'll evaluate how I look/feel and decide what to do.


How are you changing your lifestyle to lose? What are your goals?

I'm a 20 something, but I don't fit your goals. Can I join anyway? I've been at this for 2 years (!!!) and I've lost 20 (give or take) of the 52ish lbs I want to lose. I lose really slowly even on a 1200 calorie diet. Usually no more than 1lb a week, sometimes only .5lbs per week. I really need some support getting back in the saddle. I've been neglecting my calorie counting for months and I need to get back to it. I'm SO tired of being in the 160's. I'm under 5'4" and 167 today. LMK if I can take part. <3

I'd love to have all of you join.  Does anyone know how to officially start a group, or do you just decide to start one and then add those interested as friends, or what?

Can I join? I would love to get back on track, I have used this site on and off for over a year now and no matter what when I do use it I lose weight, because I am not alone.

I have only lead one forum before, but I can help if you would like.

Here is what we posted.

Current Weight (CW) Goal Weight (GW), Height (H), BMI.

We also posted measurements which helped with the motivation, because you may not see the scale move but may see a change in your size over all. When we did those we did: arms (middle of the belly of the bicep), chest (below breasts), natural waist, hips, and god help me thighs (biggest part of the thigh). The one issue I had with this was I did not make the time to do this every week, but that is up to you if you want to do it every week or every other week.  Also maybe do weigh-ins twice a week? And if you keep the group small people do not get lost in all the messages. That is all up to you. If you want we can start another forum and have a clean slate to start on and list our measurements...

Any thoughts? I am not sure of another way to do a group. We could all befriend each other too??

Wow, thanks so much for responding.  You do sound like you know what you're doing!! 

I think that stuff to post is great.  I would say probably once weekly weigh ins, and then just do measurements every other week, or maybe even once a month. 

I've already befriended the others who have expressed interest.  I'll add you as well. 

How does that sound to everyone else?

Sounds great! I'm really looking forward to joining. Someone let me know when we get started. I'm excited to get going, I really needed this accountablility!

im sittin at 194.  after having gotten down to 179 this winter......i hate falling off the saddle.  but im back now and ready to do this dang thing.  id love to have some ladies to check in with.  goal is 145 long term.  175 short term.

I am also very interested in joining as well. I am currently weighing 225 and started on the 12th of July and weighed in at 230 lbs. I can use all the support I can get as well. I just started this process and all the other forums I've noticed were for those looking to lose 25lbs or less. I am new to the site and look forward to joining the group if it hasn't been closed yet. I am 36 not 20 but in need of loosing 60 lbsCry

I don't know much about it, but I see post like this and behind it it says closed group. Does anyone know what that is all about?

Usually  closed group means that they have all the numbers they can handle, its a way of keeping the number of people in the group low.

I am going to start another thread for us all if that is okay and then we can get started on this....I hope that is okay with every one, I thought I would help =)

I will repost here where to go and what the name of it will be. Lets do a weigh in today or tomorrow, and do measurements for the first time also. Want to make weigh-ins on Wednesday from now on...hump day? This way we can keep motivated for the rest of the week.

I will befriend the others that just joined (Welcome!!!) and list everyone that has joined in the next thread =)

That sounds great Sweet Dakota.  I did weight this morning, but I didn't do measurements, so I'll have to take those tomorrow.  I think a Wednesday weigh-in is just great.
