Times They are a Changin' - Bob Dylan

Slipping through my fingers - In Mamma Mia and also "I have a dream" from the same musical

"Somewhere over the Rainbow" but only this version reminds me of Dr Mark Greene's death in ER which makes me cry every time

Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton, such a sad sad song and so much heart in it.

Oh wow "Tears in Heaven" definitely makes me cry too.

And this song I got for free on iTunes, "Your Joy" by Chrisette Michelle, it's a girl talking about how much she loves her dad, and makes it sound like he's dead or something...hard for me because I almost lost my dad last May and can't imagine the day I really do lose him.

Sometimes if I'm already pretty sad, "Blackout" by Muse will do it.

There's a few, but one that comes to mind immediately is "I'm OK," by Christina Aguilera. Get's me EVERY time. (There's no video, but there's the song.)

"Hallelujah" sung by Jeff Buckley

"Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometimes" by Beck

"Happy Birthday"      Wink

"Brand New Love" by Sebadoh

Actually, most things by Sebadoh, but especially that song.

I don't cry easily or often, but Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle makes me blink a lot.

I never cry to music but my dad cries to the song Wild Fire, you know, the one about the little girl and horse? ^_^

I can't think of a song that has made me cry, but the cover of "hurt" by Johnny Cash gave me chills.

Oh yah that last one definitely is one for me! Indeed the Johnny Cash version, when you see the clip with it what really gets me is the part where he closes the piano

Albinoni's Adagio in G minor, possibly one of the saddest, most beautiful peices of music ever conceived.

Full piece (mp3)

Awesome solo adaptation for guitar only - check this out after you listen to the full arrangement to get an idea of the sheer technical mastery of his instrument.

all good things come to an end. nelly furtado.

that song was number one when i ended a five year relationship... that i regret doing to this day. i can't even listen to it...

... i guess hes singing, "if you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it ..."

;P at least his new gf anyways .... lol   i know.... get on with it... lol

between the trees- the way she feels

Cat's in the Cradle by Sandy & Harry Chapin

My child arrived just the other day, He came to the world in the usual way.
But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay.
He learned to walk while I was away.
And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew, He'd say, "I'm gonna be like you, dad.
You know I'm gonna be like you."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

My son turned ten just the other day. He said, "Thanks for the ball, dad, come on let's play.
Can you teach me to throw?" I said, "Not today, I got a lot to do." He said, "That's ok."
And he walked away, but his smile never dimmmed, Said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah.
You know I'm gonna be like him."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

Well, he came from college just the other day, So much like a man I just had to say,
"Son, I'm proud of you. Can you sit for a while?" He shook his head, and he said with a smile,
"What I'd really like, dad, is to borrow the car keys. See you later. Can I have them please?"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then, dad.
You know we'll have a good time then."

I've long since retired and my son's moved away. I called him up just the other day.
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind." He said, "I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time.
You see, my new job's a hassle, and the kid's got the flu, But it's sure nice talking to you, dad.
It's been sure nice talking to you."

And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me, He'd grown up just like me.
My boy was just like me.

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then, dad.
You know we'll have a good time then."

"i will follow you into the dark" - death cab for cutie

the title says it all, right?  so sweet and so sad.

two songs that make me cry:

Tracy Chapmin "fast Car"

Pearl Jam "last Kiss"

I think they make me cry because I imagine what life would be like if I was in either situation.
