i am FREEZING. it always happens when i start to diet again.
i totally hate it...

i can only drink so much coffee....time to stock up on tea.

and i think its funny that it was so HOT here earlier this month that the mid 70's feel like winter...

is there any way to avoid this getting cold thing?

Drinking coffee probably isn't the best idea.  First of all, if there is caffeine in it, that's a habit you want to try to break because it's not very healthy.  Also, I found that when I drank coffee and was trying to lose weight, the caffeine in it made me crave sweets more often!  Second of all, when I drink more water during the day, my body seems to stay warmer.  I'm not sure why, but it just makes me feel better overall.  I highly recommend drinking water!  Tea (as you mentioned) is also a good option, but learn to like it without a sweetener and also buy it caffeine free.  You can always dress in laters, too.  It's not abnormal for people to be cold, so don't stress too much about it.  Wrap up in a blanket and have a cup of tea :) Good luck!
you know i found giving up ciggs easier than coffee!
lol

isnt that wierd?

i dont down it by the gallon anyway. usually 16 oz over the day.
i have it in tea cups. hee hee

thats strange it made you warmer (water) it makes me colder. even at room temp.

i just keep thinking of "hogan knows best" where his kid would complain about being cold and he said it was fat burning. she was on a diet for that video she did or whatever...

the cold wasnt as bad when i was heavier.

this was my first really fat to thin ever...its such a drama
nothing feels the same way at the different wts i have been.

now i get cold faster. and dehydrated faster.
its just strange.
When i had more weight on me, I could wear tank tops in the snow and be perfectly fine. My dad thought it was so boys would look at me, but I just wasn't cold enough to put on a sweater.

Now, I'm always cold. And when I get cold, I CAN'T warm up again for a while.

My theory: less fat to cover ours bones, bones get cold to the core.
This may seem odd.  But if I get really cold one day...not just chills, but cold to where I am turning the A/C we normally keep at 72 degrees to 78-80 degrees and throwing a blanket over me I find the next day I have lost weight.  I know that seems weird, but it happens every time.  Now I don't always get cold when I loose weight, but if I have one of those cold episodes I never fail to have a loss on the scale.  I would like to know why...so far no one can answer that one..not even my nutritionist!
Are you eating enough?
where are you from? It was hot as hell here!!!!! now its in the 70's and chilly... but thats everyone not just me dieting! Try green tea hot.. Its good for you

I drink hot water. Plain.

Yes, I know that sounds strange but it works for me.

I'm a coffee snob so I drink my two perfect cups in the morning before I go to work (where they don't serve coffee, they serve hot brown water IMO). Then the rest of the day I'm drinking hot water.

BTW it's quite hot here atm (upper 90s) but I don't care. I love my hot water!
yeh im eating enough/getting my vits.

only my hands are chilly today. but they are always cold.

i just remember being super thin and wearing thermals in august back in the thin days...

its going to be in the 80s here this week again. so i wont feel so freezing.  that temp drop really exagerated it...
and i just HATE the uncomfy things that go along with dieting.

i wish you felt the same dieting as with maintaince eating.
like that nausea wave that sometimes hits you before you have to go to the bathroom. ugh..i hate that too.

ive been doing the chamomile tea thing.
mmmm minty.

My teacher always used to say that Fats are our natural jackets. :)

Hi everyone!  I"m freezing too!  I lost 50 lbs and was at my lowest about a year ago....I was freezing then....I decided to think I could eat whatever I wanted cuz I was thin, then I wasn't freezing all the time.  I gained 15 lbs back!  I started dieting about a month ago and am freezing again!  I think the more big macs and french fries you eat, the warmer you are!  Ha!  Veggies and good proteins don't have the fat to insulate you!  On a serious note though; it is very common to be cold and to lose your hair when you lose weight at a steady pace.  Take a sweater everywhere you go....that's all I can tell you!

Also, about the coffee issue....coffee has several health beneifts when consumed in moderation.  In the last couple of months, "All You", "Fitness" and "Women's Health" magazines have written articles on what coffee does for you!  Everyone should have a little caffeine every once in a while.  Plus, it speeds up your metabolism!  And....you'd be checking out really good magazines with lots of fun and useful advice!

Good luck to all!

seems like your red cells count is getting low, if this happens to you go to a nutritionist, you might have something going wrong there.
While feeling cold is often associated with your body going through changes during weight loss, heading to your doctor to get some blood work done is the best bet.  They will detect if you are deficient in any vitamins and such.

Better safe than sorry
I get cold too when I start, its your metabolism dropping.  Ask me where I read it?  No clue.  Some womans mag.
Maybe your turning into a reptilian and need to sit out in the sun to keep warm. Happend to my brother.  But hey, there are benefits, All you can eat are fly's and Grashoppers, so it makes for easy planning and dieting!

Yay!
