It might be best to avoid foods that are hard to chew or swallow such as crunchy cereals, crackers etc.. and highly acidic foods such as citrus fruits.Eating very hot/cold food may also irritate your throat.

Foods to eat: canned fruit, soup, casseroles, stews.,jello, omlettes etc.. any soft food or food that has been soaked e.g cereal soaked in milk.

Hope I Helped-lemon juice and honey is a good pain reliever!

Thanks :o) Had a lot of soup today!
Drink anise with honey.. really helps.

Get well soon.

I used to get strep all the time... I would take ibuprofen then when it started working I'd eat yogurt, pb&js, cheese, bananas, apple sauce, soup.  Soft foods.  But I'd always start with the ibuprofen for the swelling & pain.

Good luck & get better!

I've heard that honey makes your throat worse.....it is a good environment to grow bacteria or something.  So I would reccomend to stay away from the honey! I always like popsicles or fudsiglces when I have a sore throat.....
When I have a sore/irritated throat it unfortunately makes me want to keep eating because it feels better.
It might sound a little weird, but a tablespoon of brandy always helps. It sort of works like a cough syrup, and it makes your body warm up all over. Wink

foods to eat:

  • yogurt
  • frozen yogurt
  • oatmeal
  • soft fruit that's already cut up so it's not hard for you to bite
  • pudding
  • applesauce
  • soup
  • pasta + sauce
  • warm beverages

foods to avoid:

  • anything hard/crunchy (cold cereal, sandwiches, nuts, popcorn, pretzels, rice cakes, etc)
  • things that take alot of swallowing aka sticky foods (marshmallows, peanut butter, etc)
