I know what you're saying. I use to do the same kind of thing. If I was just sitting around watching TV, or just doing nothing at all I would eat because I was bored. I don't know if you tried this or not, but try and find something for you to do. Find a sport, read, write, pick up some sort of hobby that will take your mind off of eating. As for the office thing, I work in an office all day too. You could find some healthy stuff to snack on. Like instead of doritos go for pretzals, buy a fruit smootie instead of a coke. Just try and limit yourself. It's all about discipline. Try to eat yogurt or apples or bananas. It's okay to snack, just watch what it is you snack on.

While this place has a great support system for weight loss, if you are fighting with an eating disorder (which it sounds as you are) the first place you should head to is your doctor.
In terms of why you eat like that, it could be a psychological issue. Diet wise, if you are depriving your body of certain nutrients, it could lead to binging.
But really, I'd suggest seeing a professional to get the ED thing under control.

I had a sever problem with over eating thoughout my childhood. One of the things o found helped was allways having something to drink on hand at all times and something with flavour be it lemon water or tea ( i ussually drink green tea) One tip for the office though is if you pick and snack at candies at your desk like i was just bring in some diabetic candies ( you can get them at most healthfood stores and most supermarkets) I swear by them. But it my just be that your body needs the taste of something or that you are dehydrated if you dont drink enough water though the day your body tricks you into believing that you are hungry when realy all you need is to have a nice big glass of water or tea or juice. if any of this help i am glad. You should be drinking 2 liters of water a day, many people mistake hunger for thirst, as strange as it may sound. Try keeping a water bottle on you at all times, and when yo uget a craving take a sip.
As for your office snacking, buy a bag of baby carrots, and snack on them, or a bag of spinach same great crunch as chips without the cals.
At home, try preparing little ziplock bags full of veggies so when you feel like you need to nibble you can just grab a baggie instead of reaching or a chocolate bar
