Sorry really worried...
Hi,
Im sorry to post this but I dont know why I keep getting this rash (in my photos) it appears on only on my legs, I think its burst veins or something but I keep getting them about every 2 weeks (ever since I started exercising 6 weeks ago) and they last about 5/6 days, is this normal? I used to just have them on my left leg but now they are starting to appear on my right.. I would like to know if anyone else gets these or not, im kinda worried about them, should I be?
Yes sorry I have already posted this in another thread but im kinda worried about it, sorry
Hi - sorry you're having trouble...
where on your legs is the rash?
Could it be your workout clothes causing the rash? I am thinking maybe that when you are sweating, maybe the fabrics are not breathing well and perhaps causing a bit of a heat rash or irritation?
Is it itchy?
its on the top of my thighs but its now spreading further down my thighs to my knees now, only a few here and there.. I've never had them before untill i started exercising 6 weeks ago...
no they arent itchy, when you press on them they dont dissapear and you can feel little lumps where the red spot is..
It could be a reaction your body is having to starting a new routine. If you kind of just jumped right into exercising and dieting, it might have shocked your body some.
I found that about 3-4 weeks after I cold turkeyed myself into a reduced calorie diet and started really working out, I got a slightly painful rash on my right thigh that acually turned into shingles believe it or not.
It was a stress reaction my body was having.
Only a doctor can tell for sure what yours is, but I would get it checked out if I were you. So, you don't think it could be a reaction to your workout clothing?
that looks to me like broken blood vessels. When I was in high school cheerleading we would get that from slapping our legs too hard when we would snap down from a cheer or when we would lift people on our shoulders. It maybe a mix of you work out clothes and the lotion on ur legs too. but deff. have a doctor look at them.
looks to me like pimples. do you shower right after you work out?
It's hard to tell from your pictures, but it could be keratosis pilaris, or KP, a super-common skin condition resulting in red spots that are filled with keratin, which makes them bumpy to the touch.
ETA: Sorry, I just read that your bumps don't last. It isn't that, then. It is likely one of the conditions already suggested. Capillaries often burst from vigorous exercise—though I never find the result to be bumpy—and pimples and rashes are not uncommon where people sweat a lot or material rubs. The poster who suggested a stress reaction also makes sense. Because there are so many possibilities, you should probably consult with your doctor if you're concerned.
If there is no pain, my guess is burst capillaries, though as I say, when that happens to me the result isn't bumpy.
