Does this sound normal to you?
I hit 170 this morning (down from 275.) I'm very worried though.
My physique is still very pudgy so to speak. I'm 6' tall; by now I figured my body composition would be very lean.
In fact, parts of my body are very lean now, but my belly and torso is till very pudgy. Think it might be loose skin?
It might be. I was really heavy before I started dieting. My highest was like 205 and I'm only 5'1. I'm now 129 and while a lot of people think that I look good the way I am now... I still have a few parts that I hate, specially my stomach. It sucks that my stomach is not strinking as fast as the rest of my body lol. I do have loose skin on my stomach so I need to work on that. In your case it might also be loose skin, but don't worry about it... we still look great!!!
Congrats on your weight loss and best of luck to you on the rest of your journey!
it could be loose skin but it could also be that you lost muscle and not just fat. Did you exercise during your weight loss? Might be time to hit the weights.
To make matters worse, I really didn't think I'd have to lose any more weight at this point; AND I can't stand the idea of losing even more weight. I don't want to be skinny skinny if you get my meaning. Bah! This stinks
by the way I just looked at your pictures and you've made a HUGE difference in your image-- for the better I think!! I don't think a guy needs to be stick thin to be attractive if that was your goal..I also think you must be at or close to a healthy place.
but what I don't understand is why you can't stand the idea of losing more weight-- is it because you don't want to be "skinny skinny" or because you are tired of counting/dieting? maybe you just need a break.
I'm not tired of counting. In fact, I don't think I can ever stop counting at this point, lol. I simply don't want to be a stick.
Take a look at roofers and at guys that use an ax to cut wood. They have the best abs.
What do they do? They swing an ax or shovel or use a pitch fork all day. Go buy a 5lb sledge hammer and swing it in the back yard for 15 minutes a day. See what happens in a month.
My SIL is a roofer and has a smaller waist than my DD.
I haven't gotten to my goal weight yet, so I might be talking complete nonsense here, but.. My goal is to simply lose weight until I get to that goal weight, then shift my focus to toning. I think (and again, I could be wrong), that it's very hard to work on building muscle and that 'toned' appearance while you are losing weight because you have that deficit. Now that you've lost your weight you can eat maintainence and work those muslesm, then (in an ideal world anyway) everything will end up tight ![]()
Comparing the pictures of your arms, back, and legs, I think you're very lean. Just give yourself time, continue with the weight training and give your skin a chance to catch up.
Also, you stand kind of sway-backed, I wonder if trying to stand up straighter might minimize how your stomach looks?
I'm 6'1.5" and went from 320 to my current 191 fairly quickly after becoming an exercise fanatic. I have a lot of really great muscle but covering it up is pounds and pounds of baggy skin. I had more weight than you did to lose so I probably have more skin than you but I would say you probably have a bit yourself. From what I've read you need to give your skin about 2 years to shrink after weight loss to get down to as small as it will go. I'm going to cheat and have mine cut off, patience is not a virtue I have. :P
I was just about to post what Shandykat said. You lost a lot of weight quickly and you need to give your body (skin especially) a chance to catch up. You look great and from what I've read you've been working out and getting in a lot of exercise.
Super job on the weight loss and getting in shape!
yeah, you look great & you don't want to be real skinny anyway. :D
congrats!
