My name is Paris and i saw you inquiry thought i would reply.
i have tried a number of the soup fad diets, i was hungry all the time, my skin was dry, and it seemed to me i was just starving myself. The weight came off yes, the cabbage soup diet really took off the weight, however it came right back after a couple of months of not keeping up with soup all the time.
My worst part was i did not have any energy, i had to quit working out while i was on the diet, and it took a bit for me to get back into the swing of things at the gym.
i have tried just about every diet out there, and some crazy stuff too.
Aloha Paris
If your goal is to lose weight, keep it off, be healthy and develop life long good eating habits then the answer is no - it won't work. Most diets don't work because they deprive you of food, nutrition and variety, all the things we crave and sooner or later you get sick of it and go back to your old habits. Statistics prove that almost all the time, diets do not work in the long run, what is the most successful is a combination of learning to eat right exercise.
Soup is great as a part of a healthy, balanced diet. It helps with losing weight because you feel full on less calories, but eat too much of it and the weight you lost (and then some, probably) will come back when reverting to normal eating habits. Unless you plan on eating just soup forever, which I highly doubt. :) The meal you described sounds excellent, however, so if it ain`t broke, don`t fix it. ;)
Soup is a great diet food. It has been shown that soup helps stay fuller for longer. You shouldn't have it exclusively but having it once a day is not going to do any harm. Just make sure things like salt content etc is low. Most soups are a great low calorie meal. I have soup most days at work, its convienient and great with a bit of bread.
Of course I would never do a diet such as the cabbage soup diet. That is crazy, very boring and detrimental to your health. You should aim for a healthy balanced diet which contains all kinds of good food.
I love soup. I just haven't got round to making my own yet but there are some great recipes here on CC :)
i have soup for lunch and a small salad if im hungry enough
but i eat a piece a fruit in the morning for a snack and i make a small sandwich with turkey or cream cheese for a afternoon snack and its working for me im lossweight the only thing i would say is watch out for all the salt in the soups
I eat minestrone soup at least 2 times a week. The kind I get is only 200 calories for an entire bowl, tons of vegetables, incredibly filling, and just plain delicious. I usually eat it for a lunch when I plan on eating a higher calorie dinner. It's just soo good, I could eat it for every meal.. that and burritos, but I don't think that's the healthiest thing to do!
Why don't you just eat a regular diet? Eating soup doesn't make you lose weight in a more special way or anything, lol.
