Use the tools on Calorie Count. Find out how many calories you're supposed to be eating daily to lose weight healthily (is that a word?) and check the Vegetarian forums and the Recipes forums for ideas of things to eat that aren't meat or meat substitute.
Is the home made or store bought?? And are you getting enough calories??
i think i m getting enough, but to be honest i dont really count , all soups are home made
admitidly tonight though i did have a portions of cheesy nachos for dinner instead.......i do like NO exercise except walking a bit like walking the dog or round town or sumin
i also dont eat pasta or rice, unless its real small portion ( health issues not sum attempt to cut food )
i m trying to cut out junk food in general, i dunno i guess i m kinda stuck
Be careful about eating too much sodium with those soups... water retention amongst other things.
And I agree, this soup diet is not good for you at all. Nor is it conductive for learning how to eat right so you can keep weight off once you lose it.
Well, depending on what's in the soup, I gotta wonder where your protein and fiber are coming from - what you listed does not appear to be all that substantial, and lacking in essential nutrients. You need some whole grains, protein, fruit, and vegetables, and some healthy fats in there as well. It does not appear to be balanced at all.
Besides that, it appears to not be all that sustainable. How long are you actually willing to live off of coffee, juice, and soup? There are a lot of soups out there, but that's still such a lack of variability in food type - why limit yourself like that? And I can't imagine that a diet that's almost completely liquid is all that healthy in the long term.
I'm with the others here - there's a better, more interesting, healthier, and varied approach to dieting that will still help you lose weight. Go to the vegetarian forum for some good recipes - I'm positive that you'll be able to find something that's better for you and easier to maintain.
What's your goal? Lose weight? Maintain? Gain?
If you made a bean soup (Trader Joe's has a 17 bean & barley mix that's terrific) you would have a good balance. Or a vegetable stew that includes potatoes and tofu.
I think you're probably not eating enough for any goal (if you're sick and it's just a day or two that's a different story), use the tools to calculate what your burn rate is and make sure that you get the minimum 1200F/1500M +300teens +%exercise and try to have a daily deficit of 500-1000 calories, that's assuming that you're trying to lose weight to get down to a normal bmi.

Hi Hi Hi.
It sounds to me like you are starving yourself by seriously undereating. You need to count your calories to make sure what you are doing is healthy .... because that really needs to be your biggest goal. Depending on your age, there are minimum daily calories that you need to eat, and it doesn't sound like you are meeting the minimum.
And are you getting protein from beans, tofu or dairy? Because you need protein and fat in addition to carbs.... all three are important!
Be safe. Be healthy. Be wise.
heya everyone goal is to lose .....
thanx for all your help i ll try and eat a bit better starting today then

Hi Bubble66, I saw on another thread that you are 5'3" and 120 lbs and are actively battling your ED. I think being that you are at a perfectly healthy weight and have a history of ED, even hospitalization, I think it is imperative that you eat more than just soup and I would suggest that until you get your ED under control that you do not try to lose any more weight.
Although it is difficult to tell how many calories your soups have I am certain it's not enough for you to get healthy. Please eat more, there are many varieties of food you can eat and it still be within your desires to be a vegetarian, maybe even you should check out the vegetarian forum??
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
