Anyone doing or have already done this program? I am on day 4 of phase 1 and very pleased with the results!

Hey Mary,

Most of the girls advise to take a fibre supplement for the simple reason that it helps to make you regular.  If you already are with the veg and stuff, then good for you.

Personally, when I ingested that much protein, I found that I became a bit constipated, and needed to take the supplement in order to regulate myself.

Still 154 today! I think constipation is an issue! I have not gone in days!!!! Hopefully today! What fiber supp do you all recommend? I HATE THIS!

So far Egg beaters with lite american cheese for breakfast! It was YUMMY!
Good morning all as for the fiber I liked the stuff you could mix with water cause I needed to drink the water any ways but Metamusil tablets did just as well had to remember to chug that water.  Have any of you tried sugar free lemon aid... it fixes a sweet craving and puts acid in your stomach and makes you feel fuller.. I make my own with splenda packets and lemon juice sometimes lime too.  HI Mary!!!There is starting to get to be so many people on this thread I have to back up to review every thing.  Glad  your aboard.  I hope to take off at least another Lb before thursday,  so far Ive been stuck for a couple days.  Ive been wanting to cheat for a while now and its driving me nuts.  ITs not that I need it... just want it.   
Shruti - Life happens and sometimes we can work around it, others we handle it and go on.  For my birthday, I had a SB day and a not SB birthday dinner.  Yours doesnt sound that simple but so my thoughts are one day is just one day.  SB will here for you afterwards. 

Carrie -  wouldnt be the first time and forgive me, but makes me smile imagining you happily headed from the bathroom to the scale.  Good wishes for your phase 1. 

While I think things can turn around for us tomorrow, an interesting twist if they dont is could still be a great as a before for a followup weigh in next Thurs.  My normal 2week weigh in is actually next Thursday but anticipating some PMS  discouragement decided on tomorrow.

Shruti- I think you should give yourself the day to be non SB. This is obviously something extremely important you you as it is a religious day and all. Also you seriously cant live on cucumber for the day. Its the same way I'm sure I wont follow SB exactly on Thanksgiving...its the same thing...kind of. Also, as far as reintroducing the carbs. I think I am going to allow myself a whole grain carb once a day probably at lunch. That will be my one carb for the day and it will be early so I can burn it off.

Carrie- I think if its been four days you might want to take a laxative. They actually make a natural laxative tea maybe you should try. I feel your pain I have been taking the fiber but I think I need to up it to 4 a day rather then just two.

I am VERY frustrated this morning. I had bought that new scale last week and it said I was 151 and I was soooo excited because my old scale had said I was 160. Well that new scale broke like I told u girls so I returned it and got a different one...wellll apparently I have gained a pound since Saturday!!! What the hell I should have lost 3 not gained one. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. =*(

I think I went into this thinking I was going to see a huge difference by the end of the two weeks. I'm starting to realize that isn't that case. I am very impatient and this always happens as soon as I go on a diet I get all umm hello why aren't I skinny yet! Lol but I mean its only been a week so I need to be a bit more realistic. Its just so frustrating when I am on phase one and still not losing. ...
I can remember back in the day when you could take scales off a store shelf, all lined up at zero and weigh differently on them.  Im not trying to just blame them but I have to wonder if you had been able to start and remain with one scale if you'd more easily see your progress.  Its so unfortunate your scale situation and I cant help but think thats a factor. 

Another consideration from experience is if your very low on calories.  It practially halted my weight loss and I still work at keeping them up.  Course I know the opposite problem occurs with plenty of carbs, but without them you lose a lot of diet calories so something to keep in mind.  Still feeling for you Jen!
thank you. yeah i think this whole scale situation really messed me up. well now i have this new one and hopefully it wont break! lol

i need to track my calories more carefually i think.
Could someone answer this for me -are you allowed any Dairy on Phase 1 of SB-I've read 2 cups minimium -fat free milk or plain fat free yogurt-then I've also read no Dairy in Phase 1?

yes you are allowed dairy but it all must be low fat. I suggest getting the book its a great help. And you can return it after you read it 0=)

Make sure you get the latest edition...it does say some low fat or fat free dairy is okay on Phase one!
I am feeling REALLY great again already just from one day back on Phase one! Sugar cravings subsiding again and I have renewed motivation! Hoping for a more acceptable number tomorrow!!!

And i only do that (return the book) bc i make very little and live in NYC....ahh being a poor and in your 20's in ny...its not so fabulous lol
ebay has the cookbook for $5 (sorry all whove heard me say this too many times :D) which includes foods and shopping advise.  Definitely a keeper.  Kept mine 12 months before returning to the diet LOL!
And I whole heartedly apologize for my decision to invite all to a Thursday weigh in.  My desire to avoid next Thursdays PMS bloat has jinxed some of my friends.  Then again its not over til the Thursday fat lady sings and I havent sang a note!

Only 12 hours left in Wednesday so make sure you get in that triatholon excercise today :D !

I dont think I could do it again for a while.  Was hard for me...Jayne your doing great at keeping everyone strait  Im having a hard time with that.  Glad i can look at your list for everyones stats including my own HAHA..  yur so much better organized than I am. 
I have a question. I have been eating a lot of cheese. All of it being low fat, reduced fat, or part skim. But could this be why I am not loosing too much weight....should I stick to just veggies and meats?
That depends how much is a lot.....I know your not supossed to count cals in phase one but maybe you should add up a day or two.  just to see where your at.  I could still over eat on phase one..cals are still cals.  You might be kicking that carb addiction but still eating to much....Try to rate your fullness from 1(being hungry) to 10(being stuffed)and 5 being satisfied.  I used to eat just to eat hence me being over 200 lbs
well i did what you said an my non pasta veggie lasagna is almost 700 calories...holy freakin cow

i think im gonna try to be a bit more healthy minded when i cook, although i really thought that was a health choice =(

Jen it is a healthy choice just eat half of what you were eating and watch out for that sneaky overeating even if it is healthy...  NOw on to my being BAD!!!  Iwent to coffee w a friend and got a grande caffe vanilla lite frappicino  I s this going to screw me  for tomorrows weigh in.  I punched in starbucks on this site and it said it was only 200cals so Im not going over my limit but that thing had a lot of sugar in it..Kikin my self in the butt fir giving into temptation.  Hope everyone had a better day than I did.  I feel like crap now.  Good luck for the weigh in tommorrow.  Im hoping for the best for everybody....GO SOUTHBEACHERS!!!
Sarah, you know Starbucks has Sugar Free syrups? I get coffee with SF carmel syrup and skim milk with a little splenda! Really satisfies the Yummy Gourmet Coffee craving!
