  • GREAT DAY FOR ME - BUT I'M READY TO EAT THE CARPET

Smoothie in the morning - ice - 1% milk - 1T chocolate cocoa - 1 scoop Jay Robb's chocolate flavored egg white protein powder -  1 tsb fiber stuff.

Snack - 3 Canadian bacon rounds grilled in the am in a frying pan - no oil, just get them browned and let low fat Jarlsberg Swiss melt on them. Took those to work and the eat well, very well cold.

Next snack - 3 oz grilled chicken breast cubes w lime juice squeeze YUM

Lunch - salad w 1.5 oz grilled chicken breast cubes and 1.5 oz sliced steak. This, over lettuce and about a drop of raspberry vinaigrette.

I'm about to dive into a fresh chicken cordon blue - the kind the butcher prepares - proteins are definitely in line with SBD and about the best damn thing I've eaten in a long time.

I'll have ricotta cheese for dessert.

940-calories for me today, and like it or not - that is HUGE for me (when I am being good - oh how I am like the other two who said they were GOOOD when they were GOOOOD and bad when the were baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.)

So 940-calories with a 400-calorie deficit from workin' it at the gym tonight, 24% fat, 62% protein, and 13% carbs.

AND I AM NOW DOWN TO 190.0 from 191.5

    190/191.5 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeYEA!

OH !!! I forgot to note my height! 5'10 and weigh 190.0. ouch.Undecided

Hey Lisa2 - small world I was born and raised in San Diego!

Well after having a hard day of self control yesterday with the food, however I did go for my 7 mile walk (yippee and wheew)....I lost another 2 lbs!

Tons to go, but what a motivator!

Hope everyone is gone to have a good day today and keep up the good work!!!

Hey Gina, question for you....do you have any Phase 1 breakfast suggestions since we are in the same country? Getting a bit sick of the 2 rashers per day, however it does keep me on the being good side.

    Thanks a million!

    Hey Angie,

I dont eat meat so I ate lots of egg whites (dont like the yolks) and cottage cheese.  Tesco do so great 1-2% fat cottage cheese.  I ate lots of omelettes with veg, and would have a tbsp of cottage cheese too.

There is also another website fatsecret.com.  It has alot of recipies for example:

    Thick Chocolate Milkshake

    Ingredients

    Directions

    1. Combine all ingredients in blender. Use sugar free chocolate syrup if available.
    2. Blend until ice is all chopped and milkshake has thick and creamy consistency.
    3. Serve and enjoy!
    4. Note: good for Phase 1 South Beach.
    Servings: 1

    Hope this helps!

So how are you finding Phase 1??
OOOOO chocolate for breakfast sounds yummy.  I wonder...does it keep you full...I tried those slimfast shakes once before and I was climbing the walls hungry 3 hrs later.  It doesnt sound like the exact same thing but maybe if I added some of that powdered fiber stuff that would make it stick
I am blown away by how busy this site has gotten! Glad you all sound well! I am doing really well. Finally back to exercising again and loving it! Weigh in this Thurs. right? I am trying not to weigh until then!
    XOXOXOX to all!
    Carie

Thanks for the info Gina, unfortunately I have eczema and basically I have to stay away from all dairy products, otherwise I'd being having eggs...looking into that website though to see if they have some options.

Phase 1, the 1st week was the worst I thought, you know little slip ups with grapes and carrots, just something I think to munch on.  But that was for only about 2 days.

This week, doing ok...going to put some effort into making some recipes, etc. something to spice it up so the boredom doesn't set in you know?

But I like to see the scale go down every morning so far...yep I am a slave to the scale!!!

    Good Morning on the Beach!

Melissa, Im glad your focusing on taking care of yourself.  We'll be here!  Shruti, my organization isnt from choice.  Its how I compensate for my memory loss and helps me to remember things.  Look at that list!! So many of us now and what a fun time your holiday sounds like.  Ive been eating slice turkey or chicken for breakfast daily, kind of boring but like the high protein to push me into the day.

Great on the 2lbs Angie and OMG 7 miles.  Very admirable!  BTW you may notice Gina's on a different diet plan but it wasnt like we were going to let her leave the thread :D.

    double post ***

haha, well you couldnt do that to me Jayne!!!  Wink

Angie, what about goats milk??  Glenisk go a goats milk / yoghurt range, although so of the stuff you are not allowed til phase 2!!

Just a thought - I dont think you are allowed proper sausages, but what about the quorn sausages for breakfast??   Meat susbtitute is allowed on Phase 1.  And it would make a change!

By the way there is a yummy lunch / dinner recipe for steak fajitas.  When I did Phase 1, I used chicken instead.  Also didnt put in the cheesy stuff (not big into it - I'm allergic to most cheese) but it was delicious!!  I have recently gone completely veggie, so in other words I cut out the chicken completely.

My mum isnt too happy about it, she she is glad to see me making my evening meals - even if they are vegetarian!!!

Hope everyone else is going well.

6 DAYS WITHOUT CHOCOLATE!!  Its been tough but I feel good!!

Happy Tuesday.  finished my roasted chicken and will start to cackle or crow if I have to eat one more pc of chicken.  Bought cage free eggs yesterday so plan lots of omelets, boiled egg whites and deviled eggs for the next few days.  (guess that's still sort of like having chicken).

Walked 4 miles yesterday, weight when I got home, 180.2.  It was like a 'tease' the scale, telling me, haha, still didn't pass 180 barrier.  This A.M., still in the 180 range, so thinking plateau may be coming to an end, as last 2 wks it was 181-182.  If I dropped yesterday after the walk, maybe today it will drop to 179.

have a good low carb day everyone.
hehe just got my mail and the library is going to put out a warrent out for my arrest if I dont return the books I borrowed.  So that is a top priority today.  Cant beleive I forgot about them for so long.  The fine is going to be majorly high.  EEECK Im a thief and didnt mean to be. This ha nothing to do with dieting but shouldnt a sittuation like this burn some extra calories HAHA!!
Ohio, have you told me your first name - goldfish memory here.  Hope you get there before but maybe our Thursday weigh in is your big break.  Im not burned out on chicken (yet) but just this morning, I was thinking how Ive burned out on tilapia and then shrimp.  Now Im on salad with chicken and dread not burning out as well.  I did this off the diet, would latch on to a certain food and it so regularly as well as for a long time that soon I couldnt even touch it.  Currently Ive a box of froz tilapia fillets untouched.

Resistant as I am, Im thinking to break down and pull something from the cookbook.  Easy ingredients and prep to maybe bring back fish and shrimp.  Now I just need to not obsess on the new recipe meal.  The apple pie thingie probably showed how I get hooked on something.

Sarah, burning calories from stress counts (and its less sweaty).  Okay, I dont know thaty you can burn them that way but a girl can dream.
Gina, eating out I got chick fajitas and when they brought the toppings plate I realized next to a carby flour tortilla, my fav part was the sourcream cheese and guac.  I just told them dont even leave it on the table.  I could easily do a veg fajita using sauted mushrooms.
