Happy Christmas Eve you guys!

Yesterday, I was pulling my hair out.  Id spent Saturday really filling up on small things: jewelry, makeup, hair things but I was at a loss what bigger thing(s) to get Kiki.  I usually get her clothes but shes gotten too large for normal teen sizes in stores and the largers sizes are adult styles.  There is one store (price) an hour from here, Torrid, thats larger sized younger style so I intended to take her shopping as a gift.

Last night, I hit the jackpot though at Ross in there larger sizes some cute style shirts in 1x and 2x.  Last year was the Christmas she cried because all the shirts she liked but were too small, so this year I opted possibly too big.  Eleven shirts!  I figure she'll return some and we can get her pants.  Plus a Hello Kitty store where I normally have bad luck and she ends up exchanging the items I think I did well (she's says know - lets wait til there opened).

Rachael, dont forget to let us know about if the date comes to be.  I dont think Ive been nearly active as you guys but definitely more then myself.  Sarah, 160-161 its all good!  Your right there :D.  Ive been higher calorie I know these few days - probably hunger from shopping but thinking I should be on track for a loss still.

Heading to counseling with Kiki and then tonight a get together at a friends (my old annual get out of the house thingie).
getfit:  have a wonderful Christmas with your hubby and whole family together.

sun:  your Christmas present to yourself is your big loss this yr.  Have a wonderful time at your friends tonight.

Everyone else, hope you have a great Christmas full of peace and love.
merry Christmas.

my stomach hurts from eating so much, but everything was so good.
Belated Merry Christmas!

So much has happened with much drama.  C Eve Kiki and I had blowout fight, then after dropping her off at her boyfriends I hit a curb and get a flat.  Drive wobbly home and freaking over running out of cigs.  C-day, silence between us as she heads back to bf - okay, considering option of continued fighting.

Early morn, Im out of cigs and jonesing horribly.  No car, but knowing CVS a mile away is open.  Desperate I grab a crutch and start walking.  Two hours walking back and forth was no obstacle to day and night of jonesing.  So bizarre lived here 7 years, first time to walk down my street.

Knew it was unrealistic but had hit my breaking point at home with the withdrawl and it was the only of two impossible situations that had relief in sight.  Slow journey and after 20 minutes traveling what I later learned was only a painful 1/5 mile, reality hits that distance, not time was my limitation.  I overestimated perserverance versus physical limitations, and after a call of much begging Kiki's dad begrudgingly gave me a ride.  He also brought her to the house to open her present from both of us.  She suprisingly apologized (presents change the mood?) and back off to bf.  Didnt mind with my drug supply and we met up late night.  Have a quitting resolution set up for new years.

Had a few splurges C eve and think I made up for it C day - Thursday will tell, our last weigh in of the year!  Hope you didnt have as crazy a holiday as I and with Kiki dad helping me with tire Thursday, will be homebound today.
sun:  sorry about your awful day.  Put it out of your mind and start with a new day today.

still so full..........and leaving for lunch in a couple of hours.  Guess it will be tea and fruit as I can't thnk about food.
I totally relate to the christmas splurges and there were several times christmas day I thought I could justify eating this or that but I backed off because there wasnt anything out of the norm at my house anyway.  I wouldnt have regretted if I had but just didnt feel strongly enough to.  Granted I did have some bites at the C eve party.

I even thought this morn about making up for yesterday but rememeber last piece of salmon so started with salad for breakfast so on tract.

Must work, holiday over, must work LOL.  Tire is supposed to be fixed tomorrow so not sure when/if I will get to clinic weigh in but especially curious hoping weekend shopping and crazy CVS exersion (yes I know it was only 20 minutes :D - big time for me though) will help with weigh in.
sun:  the walk should count as a lot for you, since you don't normally do that.  It's not the distance,  but the effort our body goes thru.

Had my brunch date and don't think there is anything there......noticed some bragging and arrogance, which didn't appeal.

oh well, I'm happier sitting at home, chatting with my friends here.
Wow - that must have been a turn off Rachael.  Nothing like a bad date to remind us how enjoyable our friends are or even being alone as our own company.

Beachers - where ya at?  Christmas hangover?

My sister in law Alice agreed to take me to weigh in since my wheels still flat.  No Im bartering with myself that if I dont make it to 365, which is likely since I'd require losing 4.5 lbs, that since it was for year end I get partial credit if I make it next Thursday, 2 days after new years eve.

I hope I dont weigh in alone though - anyone else on for tomorrow?

My weigh in is scheduled for Sunday, but my USWIDs (unoficial sneaky weigh in days) have been occurring for the past two days.... and I'm being remarkably consistent ... and staying the same darn weight! AAARRRGGGHHH! 301.4... 301.4 .... 301.4..... (sigh)  I am just w-a-i-t-i-n-g to see 299!!!!!! I want that silly 2 in front of my weights!!! TWO! TWO! TWO! TWO!

* flops over in a frustrated heap *

Anyway, I've stayed on track ... no binges, no cheating, no splurges, no free days, no extras, no treats -- just oodles and oodles of veggies, plenty of lean protein, a heaping pile o' fiber, and some nourishing whole grains. My asthma has been acting up, so my primary source of exercise right now is coughing, wheezing and gasping for breath (rather than walking on the treadmill!)

This is officially Week 19, and (so far), I've lost at least a little weight every single week and assume that will be the case for this week, as well.... I'm just hoping for a 1.6 pound loss so at least I can see 299.8 on the scale!   I've been really trying to watch my sodium so I don't retain any unnecessary water.

=^..^= MOLLLLLLLLLLLY

Ive only been able to weigh once weekly til I can get on a home scale but bet it was surprising to come in so evenly for three days Molly.  Your closer then me with 4.5 lbs from goal.  So close so so close for both of us!

Weighed in at the exact same 369.7 (actually up 2/10 of a lb).  I got my period this morning (which randomly only occurs every few months) and I was still optimistic that it the "P" in PMS that means weight gain, before period not during but it does have me that more hopeful for next thursday belated NewYears weighin date.  Then again I could still pop in Monday for a final weigh but it'd be a longshot.

Any other weigh-ins?  Anyone?  Anyone?  Buehler?

* stomps in and announces huffily that her evil scale has been FLUNG into the swimming pool where it now rests peacefully at the bottom midst assorted sunken leaves *

Note... USWIDS (unofficial sneaky weigh in days) can be a dangerous thing when one's TOM is due to start any moment and the foolish scale dares to show water retention.

=^..^= MOLLY

Good idea with the pool - lets see how the scale now feels about water retention!
Argh! Im so hungry.  For someone who eats so predictably, its pretty obvious.  Actually had a late breakfast (usual salad w/ chicken) lunch wrap and then for mid afternoon realized I was hungry where normally I eat because of schedule.

Made the pumpkin/pudding thing, but it didnt really put a dent in it.  At 90 cal, figured I could have another snack - a 90 cal veg burger, because I hadnt had one for a while and figured it was filling.  My stomach seems to forgotten I ate it.

Course I remembered how the period started today but I dont get it but every few months and figured the hunger thing was a pre-period thing anyway.  Im not used to TOM hunger but if its not that, I cant imagine whats going on.

Distraction, distraction, distraction.....  Thirty minutes to dinner - will have to bump up some extra vegetables but geez, have I been spoiled by low appetitie.
Just a mini update.  That hunger thing passed prior to dinner.  Not sure what was going on either - very weird but back in my happy place.
Morning all.  Sorry Ive been MIA but the last few days have been crazy.  I know Im a day late but Im at 164  I went over board on the carbs so back at it today ...hopfully it will come off fast.  Sure did enjoy that eating fest though.  A belated MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone!!!!
getfit:  we all knew it was going to happen during Christmas.  You'll get back down.

Down 1.8# since yesterday. This is what I used to be like when younger,  careful a day or two and pounds fell off.  It has to be activity.  Could have cheerfully gotten ready for bed at 6 pm, but I was changing clothes and leaving the house, then rushed thru a mall, so it had to burn calories.

The funny thing is that I wasn't tired anymore once we left for the mall.  So, maybe at home, instead of getting ready for bed, cause I'm exhausted, I should jump in the car and walk thru some stores.  ha........that isn't going to happen.  Jumping in a car, in Florida is different than going out in the ice and snow at home.

Making a cheese ball and some stuff for company, then sometime we need to plan our New Years menu.
Good going Rachael!  Youve probably heard that the reduced activity of winter adds to weight loss so good to take advantage of the FL weather.  Sarah, glad you had a chance to give it a go over holiday - there behind us and I see those lbs dropping off you soon!

I found out all veg burgers NOT created equal LOL.  I love mushrooms too but this gardenburger portebella one was a dud for me and Im not picky.  Back to the crazy about morningstar black bean one, if I can remember while shopping.

Still no car - not a problem working from home and forcing daughter to walk to bf.  As a couch potato, this is a good thing. Wonder where she got the sitting around thing from, I ask guiltily.
At the risk of being presumptious, Ive been putting together some ideas for the first post of a new SB thread.  What do you think?  My thoughts were to start an new initial thread since I hear the new years resolutions make the board the busiest.

I have an intro paragraph and below it would be links to the information.

We're so glad you made it!  Here you’ll find support and information from members using The South Beach (SB) Plan to lose weight and get healthy.  Some follow the plan strictly, some modified it to fit their lifestyle and some moved on to try other diet plans.  All are welcome!  We are honest with each other, don’t judge and provide support.  Its not just about dieting either– we share our days, good and bad,  The original thread began in August 2007 and continued on steadily, with members checking in daily.  This new thread was created to provide SB information from the SB books and websites about SB.

Feel free to share as little or much as you are comfortable with. Things you might let us know are your first name, city/state/country, starting weight, goal weight.

Hello All - and Happy Holidays (belated as they are for XMAS, but just in time for New Years!) (So not a complete loss)

Well, no info to provide on the weight loss, XMAS was a bit stressful, but all in all ended well. Alei was so happy and that was all that mattered. Got that gym membership as my XMAS present, went today and felt like I was back in CA, it was a great feeling even if I was sweating like a pig LOL. Keith got Alei a membership as well for the pool. She's already met new friends and can't wait to go back tomorrow (me neither Wink). Have 9 weeks until Gary's (Keith's son) confirmation and have to look good, I think I can make some dent at least. Just have to stay off those stupid steroids and remain stress free (hmm somehow that doesn't seem possible).

I hope everyone is doing well, Jayne, I am sorry to hear about your XMAS day, you know what I keep saying to myself. The sooner this year is over the better, just a few more days and then another and better year just has to be around the corner.

Will try to be better about logging in, need to, starting again and know that my urges will be all there AGAIN!!

Take care ladies!
