Soy Cheese

I have eaten some soy cheese in the past,
And let just say it tasted like rubber.
But i am willing to give soy cheese another try!

So i was wondering if anyone knew for some good so cheese?

Hey, just wanted to say nice swallows!  They look a lot like the ones I got this summer - the coloring is actually shockingly similar.

But yeah, cheese...I have heard really, really good things about Teese, but I have yet to try it yet.  You can only buy it in stores in Portland and Chicago, but you can order it online.  I think I might order some, except that the post doesn't deliver to my house and I dread the thought of delicious teese languishing away in my PO box.

I also used to love the smoked provolone flavour of veggie slices, but they have casein, so not actually vegan.

i like the trader joe's kind. It's called soy-station or something.

also, pepper jack veggie slices are good from galaxy foods. I think soy cheese tastes a lot better when melted on something, just not by itself

I believe Soy-sation isn't vegan (if you're going for vegan). I used to love it until I realized it had lactose or casein in it. I really like Vegan Gourmet- it comes in a few different flavors and it melts pretty well.

I used to eat Veg Cheese in Pepper Jack flavor. It's in like a green package. I really loved it but it's not vegan...

I really love the cheddar flavor- it tastes a little more like american cheese but I used to melt it with some soy or almond milk and pour it over pasta- instant mac n cheese! They also have Monterey Jack that I've always wanted to try.

i like the melissa's brand soy cheese. it actually melts :)

I like Lisanatti almond cheese, although it's not vegan, if that's what you're looking for. The way I see it, at least it's an improvement from full-dairy cheese, and it's low-fat and organic too. Plus it has a lot more protein than most soy-based cheese and it also melts AND shreds too! It's firm enough that it doesn't fall apart when you try to grate it, like Vegan Gourmet cheese sometimes does.

Skinnyogi - Ill give the cheddar a try, But they dont have vegan gourmet in any of the store's by my house, ill try looking for it when i go to work.

i buy my vegan cheese from veganessentials.com.

it is a bit more expensive but i know it is actually vegan

and they have blue cheese:)(the only thing i missed being vegan)

i live in a small town,the original gold mine capital of canada:)(once upon a time)

we don;'t have a great selection of veg food here so thisis the  site i go to for many things.

Just tried Sunergia Soy Foods tomato garlic soy feta. Yummy! It comes in three flavors (I think the others were med herb and lemon oregano) as well as soy bleu cheese (but I always hated bleu cheese, bleech!) It is made with whole soybeans, evoo, and fortified with omega-3's. The sodium content is 160 mg per ounce which is quite low for cheese. Doesn't really melt but the texture isn't plastic-y.

VEGAN GOURMET! I will only eat vegan gourmet though I have only tried that and a few kinds of rice cheese. I don't have many options where I live. : (
