Is this too much soy in one day?
I've been recently trying different foods/products and a lot of them are soy based.
Today so far:
4 slices Tofurky
a Luna Bar (soy protein isolate)
amys brown rice bowl with 5 small tofu pieces
1/3 cup black soybeans
is this too much in one day? i've heard soy can be harmful in large quantities
it's important to eat a variety of foods, and not become dependent on soy substitutes. that said, one day of excessive soy consumption (and really, i'm not sure if this even qualifies as "excessive") is not going to make that much of a difference if in general you eat a varied diet.
if you're concerned about protein intake, you can try other legumes, nuts, seeds, and the miracle grain (that's how i like to think of it), quinoa.
In my opinion, that is way too much soy to be eating on a daily basis, but I avoid soy like the devil. Soy is extremely estrogenic, as you may have heard.
Like the above poster said, try to vary your protein sources.
