Soy Protein Powder....is not so gross anymore.

I found something that masks the taste of soy protein powder very well.  In a blender I mix 3 cups milk, all natural peanut butter with flaxseed oil, 3 scoops of protein powder, ice and splenda.  It is actually drinkable.  I am so happy since I bought a gigantic can of soy protein powder and did not know how I was going to use it.  You can hardly taste the protein powder!

I mix it in my oatmeal and I don't even taste it. I buy Bob's Red Mill isolated soy protein.

I also tried it in a smoothie with soy milk, banana, a bit of OJ and didn't notice a bad taste.

Thanks cellophane_star.

I have Whole Foods Natural Vanilla Flavor Soy Protein Powder and it overpowered the smoothie I made with yogurt, frozen mixed berries, milk and ice.  I will try your recipe and I will try it in oatmeal too.

I have a chocolate flavour and make delicious smoothies all the time. My favourite is with vanilla soy or almond milk and blueberries.

I only use 1 tbsp of the soy powder in 1/2 cup of oat bran. It can get a little pasty so I make sure there's still a bit of water left when I mix it in. The brand I use is unflavoured.

I just had this for the first time today.

Mine is chocolate flavoured and I just mixed it with milk. I thought it tasted a lot like a malt shake. But, hubby thought it was disgusting so I'm just going to add some fresh or frozen berries next time.

Sounds good, yeah? :)

Maybe it's just the particular brand you got that wasn't so nice?

you might just need to get used to it.  When I make smoothies I make sure to add the liquid and powder first and blend it up so that the powder can dissolve rather than just mix in.  I also usually get whey protein.  I don't know the difference...:)

I mix mine with cream of wheat. It tastes so good! Also, when you finish with your big tub buy ARIA Women's Protein. This stuff is whey and soy protein power. Its so good that I mix it with everything like in cold cereal, peanut butter, and I sprinkle it on my apple. I also use trader joe's soy protein powder which tastes the best in the cream of wheat.

I put vanilla soy pp in my steel cut oats and in smoothies.  I love the flavor!  But it's the brand I use that I like.  I tried another brand, just plain and it was awful!!!

Someone at work told me to mix it with peanut butter to mask the taste.  Milk, soy protien powder, peanut butter and ice.  What do you think?  Has anyone tried this?
