soymilk!

Quote  |  Reply

okay, so I had tried "silk" brand soymilk once before and was totally turned off to soymilk until i found "soy slender" brand chocolate soymilk! no sugar added (made w/sucralose), and per 1 cup serving is 70 calories, 3g total fat, 4g fiber, 7g protein! It tastes almost like chocolate milk too, which is great. And, soymilk always gives me that "full" feeling... they also sell "soy slender" in cappucino and vanilla... anyone have any great ideas or recipes i can do with soymilk other than just drinking it straight?

Are you sure it's 10 calories a cup? I drink light soy milk and that's 70 calories per cup.

The soy slender plain is delicious as well. I can only ever find it near my parents house in NJ though!
ok so dumb question.  i drink skim milk like its going out of style.  i preobably go through atleats 2-3 gallons a week.  its funny cause when i was a kid i was lactose intolerant.  i still am, but it doesn't bother me as bad. plus i hated milk at a kid.  so my mom started buying that lactaid milk cause she was always a firm beleiver that you need to have milk with every meal. lol. anyways.....so recently i was interested in trying soy milk.  but i'm not really sure how it tastes.  i don't want to spend the money on something that i'm not going to like.  and i don't really know anyone who drinks it.  what do you guys think? what does it take like?

um, yeah... sorry for the typo! that was really uncool of me... but i still love it at 70 cals a cup! :)

It's deliciousness. lol I really do love it- it's not as heavy as milk is and I think the taste is better. Some are really sweet but not all of them.

I've tried vanilla, plain and chocolate soy milks and I love them all! They taste better than milk and they don't leave that nasty loogey feeling in the back of your throat like milk does lol.

Soy milk is amazing. It's not heavy, has a very subtle sweet taste, and taste great with everything(esp. cereal) Drink a fortified version and one cup will give you 50% of your daily B12 intake.

Thanks girls!

So what is a good brand?  does it really matter? does one taste better than the other?

I LOVEEEEEEE Silk Light Vanilla Soymilk :) I haven't tried the chocolate flavor yet but im considering it. I also just starting using Vanilla Almond Breeze in my cereal which is only 45 calories for a whole cup! and most the time I only use half a cup of it in my cereal or oatmeal ~

Yeah, that nasty loogey feeling is mucus and its so nasty. That's what made me give up cow's milk. When running or really doing anything aerobic, the mucus comes up and you talk about grossosity!!Yell

I love soy milk, I have always drink it since I was a kid! Grant it, it was always the Asian brand "Yeo's" which is so rich and creamy.  But lately I have been drinking the American brand "Soy Slender" it's not as tasty as "Yeo's" but definitely much more healthier! I prefer chugging down soy milk as oppose to regular cow's milk.  For some reason I've always had a problem with drinking milk by itself, and I seriously didn't start eating cheese by itself till high school!
