Spacing out the babies- how long did you wait?
My oldest is four, his twin brother and sister are 3 (they are 18 months apart) and the baby is five months. When my twins were one years old I was a few months pregnant with another set of twins who I lost at 24 weeks. That was pretty devastating. Thats why I gained to much weight with my last pregnancy. It was such an emotional rollercoaster. I was so afraid I was going to lose her too. But she is five months old now and happy and healthy! It is CRAZY having four kids four and under. However, they are close enough in age to be playmates and that is really important! It was kind of difficult, though, to be pregant and tired and having to take care of your other babies! No time for you.
I have a 3 1/2 year old, 18 month old, and a 3 month old. All Boys! We were trying for a girl but it just didn't happen
I believe the perfect spacing between children is 2 years. The older kid (or Kids) will be able to help out and also be able to communicate with you. They also can understand to be gentle with the new one. The hardest part for me was that my 18 month old is still in the stage of needing LOTS of attention. He doesn't really grasp the concept that it's not that I don't love him as much but that the baby is very demanding. I try to give him as much attention as I possibly can, but then I don't want to deprive the baby either. They were/are really good babies so I can't complain. You seem to forget home sleep deprived you are in the first couple months and having the old siblings be able to sleep on their own and through the night makes it a lot easier.
You have your hands full! At times I think that I must be the only mom running around with her head cut off but then I read things like this, and think that my life isn't nearly as hectic. Just think of the good times ahead (When they are raised and have families of their own--and you can send the grandkids home when they start crying![]()
my three are aged 13 1/2, almost 9 and and 5
Well my daughter just turned three, and my husband and I are ready for the second. He doesnt get home from Iraq until Jan... and no telling when I would get pregant, but it would be about 4 years diffrence giver or take. My sis is 5 years older and my brother is 5 years younger. So I think its a good middle area. I have a lot of friends who have two really close to age and I just think I would pull my hair out lol...
But everyone is diffrent so I guess it boils down to what you really think is good for you!!
I wanted to have my second when my oldest was 3. I came close, he was 2 1/2, so it still wasn't too bad. I think those 6 months would have made things just a little easier though.
