Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

Makes 4 servings


Simple supper dish

Ingredients
1 lb minced beef
800 g tomatoes, chopped
2 onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon tomato puree
4 tablespoons red wine (optional)
1 salt and pepper (freshly ground black pepper)
8 oz dried spaghetti
Directions
  1. Heat a non stick pan and cook the minced beef until the fat runs. Drain and reserve

  2. Wipe out the pan, heat the oil and cook the onion and garlic until golden and softened

  3. Return the beef to the pan with wine, tomatoes, tomato puree, herbs and seasoning. Cover and simmer gently for about an hour, stirring occasionally

  4. Serve over cooked spaghetti
