has anyone tried this cereal yet? It seems like it would be a good snack...

Chocolate Special K?
I hope they aren't going to pretend this is anything but another sweetened cereal.

Ha, ha- true! To me, in the commercials, they promote it as an "evening" snack- I guess they are saying that if you are craving something chocolatey, this is a good alternative.
Anyways- just curious about the taste!

I bought some because I really like special K, particularly the yoghurty one but I thought that chocolate one was horried. I thought that the red berries in it were too sharp (freeze dried) and the chocolate was that fake "chocolate flavoured" covered flakes.
I REALLY like the special k chocolate delight! When I have a chocolate craving at night I just eat a bowl of that and it goes right away. I wouldn't go so far to say its a "healthy" snack... but its better than diving into the ice cream and is quite tasty to.
Kathywainman.. I may have read this wrong but were there strawberries AND chocolate in your cereal LOL... never had that one

Yep, red berries and chocolate flakes.
Thanks for the opinions!
um, special k chocolate delight only has special k cereal and pieces of dove dark chocolate...
if you had red berries and whatever in yours, you were eating the one specified above. i suppose it was one with chocolate flakes rather than chocolate pieces which is completely differant..
atleast at my grocery store.

Well a couple things...
It's Kellogg's® Special K® Chocolatey Delight not Special K Chocolate Delight. (more on this in the rant at the end of this post.)
And there is no Dove Chocolate in this, because there is no chocolate in this. The ingredients are as follows:
RICE, WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT, SUGAR, CHOCOLATEY CHUNKS (SUGAR, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED PALM KERNEL OIL?, COCOA PROCESSED WITH ALKALI, COCOA, SOY LECITHIN, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, MILK), HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SALT, MALT EXTRACT, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C), REDUCED IRON, NIACINAMIDE, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B1), VITAMIN A PALMITATE, BHT (PRESERVATIVE), FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12, VITAMIN D.
?LESS THAN 0.5g TRANS FAT PER SERVING
Now that last part is important because there trans-fat in this product, just less then half a gram per 31 gram serving.
And this is why it is so important to join dontmesswithourchocolate.com in protecting the currant labeling rules for chocolate. At this time there is a push at the FDA to change what can be labeled chocolate. Under the present rules chocolate has to contain cocoa fat (butter) to be labeled 'chocolate'. If the proposed rules are enacted any vegetable fat (including trans-fats (like PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED PALM KERNEL OIL) will be able to be used in chocolate.

I tried the chocolaty delight.... I like the fruit and yogurt one better. With the chocolate flavored one, I find that I pick out the chocolaty bits and throw out the flakes.... the flakes don't taste that good.
try just regular special k and low fat milk + some hersheys chocolate syrup instead
I have some and it's okay for a snack, but it doesn't compare to my beloved Godiva :)...when I ieat it, i add in some fresh strawberries. I think I'd like the yogurt one better too...will buy that one instead the next time.
I personally stick to my Kelloggs Special K Protein Plus....waaayy less cals, carbs and the extra boost of protein helps with that daily protein percentage.....If I want it sweeter...I add a little honey or rasins.
