I wanted to know if anyone had ever tried either of these diets and which one work better, Slim Fast or Special K. Also if there was any way to substitute any of the products in those diets with more generic items, but keep the same method of the diet.
I personally have not used Slim Fast or Special K diets myself. But maybe this would help.....if you buy pre packaged foods at the store pay close attention to the calories, sodium, and protein. I am not sure what your calorie intake per day is but I am on a 1200 calorie per day hope this helps?
Ive done both.. no matter the special k you choose your breakfast and lunch together only equal about 320-350 calories if you use the "correct" portion. and even adding fruit and veggie snacks and a "sensible" 3rd meal like your supposed to your calories remain pretty low.i had crazy cravings that i dont normally have. theres quite a bit of sugar in special k(maybe that caused more cravings for me). it worked for the first 2 weeks like it says, i lost about 4 pounds. but your not supposed to stick to special k diet much longer then that, and its so repetitive that its hard to anyways. Most stores..well larger ones, have a generic slim fast in powder or premade shakes. they dont taste that bad but its almost harder then the special k because you didnt eat, and you feel like you need to eat because you havent. they were hard for me! counting calories and eating real food has been much more successful for me.
good luck :)
Thanks for the replies, I'm just trying to find something that might kickstart my weighloss, but it will probably be easier to count calories and it seems it will be more beneficial too.
