special k & me :)
there are quite a few threads on this but i wanted responses from people more recently. i dont know if this is a bad diet, or what.. my roommate has done it before & she lost 6lbs and she mentioned she wanted to do it again. we have both been working out, and eating better. i decided about a month or so ago i was going to eat better, lots of veggies & fruits, and no processed foods.. that and i started to work out. which i apparently influenced her, so now we kind of motivate eachother. i have really only lost 5 lbs. which is better than nothing. but still.. i would really like to loose 6 lbs or so by halloween weekend. like i said i started a month ago. i do binge drink on the weekends, and im sure thats not helping but during the week i dont drink & i work out 4 times during the week at the gym. any input would be appreciated :)
Binge drinking can be defined as having more than 4 or 5 drinks in a row. Pretty sure most people "binge" drink from time to time.

Binge is defined in the dictionary as "spree" or "a period or bout of excessive indulgence." I think what it boils down to is just being careful of the words one uses. When you don't know someone, you have to go by exactly what they say.
hello everyone!!! i do want to say again i used the wrong vocab... when i drink, i dont drink one right back to back. i drink one for a while then drink water, and then have another. i dont go out and drink 5 beers in one hour... which i dont drink beer anyways but you get my point. i dont know WHY i referred to my drinking as binging drinking. an obvious mistake on my part.
about my calorie intake, i am really working on eating more. today i got up to 750 before my workout and i again ate after my workout was finished. i eat 6 times a day... and honestly its not just special k foods. i eat peanut butter, apples, boiled eggs, cheese. etc. i know thats what this post was about, the special k diet, but realistically i eat 2 items of special k. whether its a snack, or a bowl of cereal. i eat a lot of fruit and ALOT of veggies.
i apologize for concering everyone about the binge drinking. i do watch my calorie intake when i know im doing to drink. or at least i try to. my parents have a drink every night to relax, they dont drink to get drunk... do please do not mistake the two. this may be why i am more relaxed about alcohol. for those of you who want to say something about my parents having a drink before bed 5 days out of the week, DO NOT even attempt to bash them. i will not tolerate it. my parents are the best parents anyone could ever ask for and i would not change anything about them.
on another note, i appreciate everyone taking their time to respond!!! i am working on consuming more calories, honest.

Many years ago, when my mom was working the late night shift as night auditor at a big hotel in San Diego, she would have a small glass of wine and then lie down for a couple of hours in the evening before getting ready to leave for work. The wine helped her to relax so she could get to sleep. Nothing wrong with that.
And, no, what you described above here definitely doesn't sound like binge drinking at all.
I like Special K for breakfast or maybe for an evening snack, if I have enough calories left over. I also like the Special K crackers when I'm craving something crunchy and a little salty. But, those are the only Special K products I really like.
