special k plan

Quote  |  Reply

Ive seen a tv commercial saying that if you follow the special k diet plan that you can lose up to a pant size in 2 weeks or maybe it was 2 pant sizes.

my question is how many pounds do you have to lose to drop one pant size?  also do you believe that you can lose weight by following this plan?  i would think so initially but not keep it off but im probably wrong.

what do you guys think?

I'm not sure how many pounds equal a pant size, I'm sure it's different for everyone though. Much of that depends on your body type (it took my roommate very little poundage to go to a smaller size pant because she has a very flat butt, whereas I have a rounded butt so it takes me more pounds to get down a size). I personally have not tried this diet because I've seen a number of my friends start it and fail. It's cereal (or another one of the Special K products) for 2 meals and a "sensible" 3rd meal. Very much like Slimfast. All of my friends complained of being hungry all the time. In my friends' cases, they all ended up gaining back most, if not all, of the weight they lost while on the diet. To me, it's just not realistic to go on a 2 week program to magically fix your weight problems. I do enjoy the "Special K Breakfast" though which is a bowl of Special K (I really like the Protein one because it has 5 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein), fruit and coffee.

Hey there. I tried this once in college, but to me, it was essentially starvation. I don't know if they've changed the plan, but when I did it I replaced breakfast and lunch with 1 cup of Special K and I think 1/2 a cup of skim milk. You'll lose weight, but you'll be starving. An egg and a piece of wheat toast is less calories and a way more filling breakfast in my opinion.

A friend of mine did it and she did lose weight but put it back on pretty easy as well. I think it's not the healthiest way to lose weight because you are not eating much at all and I would think you would be lacking some vitamins and such from other foods
