Is there a specific time weight gainers should stop eating?
Im just wondering is there a specific time weight gainers should stop eating? like 3 hours before bed? this has nothing to do with not wanting to gain weight but just out of curiosity you know cos they say it helps you sleep better and its good for your metabolism.
Nope. There is no specific time. Most gaining plans (including mine) include a before-bed snack, just because it's easier when gaining to spread your intake out over more meals/snacks.
Just to play Devil's advocate a little, "good for your metabolism" sounds a bit anti-gain to me. Sorry if you truly did not mean it like that, but just my thought of something you might be more conscious about noticing what your true reasons behind the metabolism statement are.
Plus, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and late night is the perfect time to throw an extra breakfast in ;-)
oh well thats good then..no its just that i hear about how sometimes you cant get a good sleep if you've eaten before bed but since its allgood then thats good to know..haha i know i do sound anti gain but honestly thats not the reason for the question. thanks chemgirl.
I hate eating right before bed. I like to wake up hungry for breakfast. If I eat before bed I wake up and even though I eat breakfast, i'm not as hungry for it, so I eat less.
Why in the hell do you think it is a good idea to tell someone who is having eating problems to eat less, whatever the reason?
Jayjay: No one, gaining, losing, whenever, has a set stop or start time for eating. You could eat right before sleep and you'll be fine. It doesn't make you fatter or whatever other crap you might've heard.
I agree with Lala 100%. In this situation less does not equal more.
And Jay, I eat a 450-500 calorie snack about 10-15 minutes before I go to sleep EVERY NIGHT. The time you eat has no effect. It's the daily amount that counts.
I don't know about you guys, but even after going eight hours at night I'm still pretty hungry and excited for breakfast. Hahah.
I was not trying to tell JayJay to eat less by any means? If you read my post it said that "If I eat before bed I wake up and even though I eat breakfast, i'm not as hungry for it, so I eat less...." I never said don't eat before bed, eat less... I was simply, or not so simply judging from the confusion, making the point that I have a hard time starting the day off right, if breakfast goes bad, and breakfast goes bad if I have a big snack before bed.
I am no where near as knowledgable about dieting, eating, weight gain as you lala. I enjoy reading through your posts and these forums because I am constantly learning. But with every person trying its a work in process, filled with trial and error. I tried a big snack before bed, the trial, and it didn't work out so well for me, the error.
So I apologize if writing a post that could be so easily misinterpreted. JayJay, listen to Lala, she knows what she is talking about. Don't eat less by any means, no matter what time of day/night it is. Especially if your body is telling you that your hungry.
