How much do you spend on groceries each week?

Just out of curiosity, how much $$ worth of food do you eat each week? I feel like I'm spending way too much on groceries so I want to see if I am about average or not!

For two people we spend average of $125/week. We shop primarily from Whole Foods and cook most of the meals ourselves. We hardly ever buy any processed foods but buy a lot of deserts/pastries etc.

We spend around $70 per week for 2 adults and one baby

For just myself, I spend about $60-$80 a week on groceries

NO ONE spend as much money as I do when it comes to grocery shopping! I am too embarassed to tell everyone! Although when I do go... the groceries I get last me 2 + weeks so maybe I'm really not too terrible... I am going tomorrow - wish me luck... it's going to be bad though because I am going to Whole Foods! (Oh and I just shop for myself...)

Oh ok this is more reassuring! Its so expensive to buy fresh produce and tofu and things aggh...

There's 3 of us, I think we average about $100-150 a week. I can't really say exactly because we buy other things during our shopping trips, and sometimes things last us for 2 weeks, etc.

i've asked this question in the past, you might want to check it out. for me, i spend 50 a week, and it's just me by myself.

Husband and I, on average, spend about $50/week on groceries.  He's a coupon clipper, which helps.  And we don't buy meat.

When I read gia`s posts I always think 'man, this girl really goes all out grocery-wise!'.

Mine is very low compared to what the others posted, but that is most likely because Romanian prices are pretty low, so I doubt it helps if I post it.

$350 bucks every two weeks for a family of four.  Lots of fruits and veggies and fish and assorted meats.

3 of us and i spend about 100 a week.

Ha Ha! I certainly do! I really don't buy anything except food and without health, we have nothing! :)

Anywhere from 20-40 bucks a week for just myself.

I could average around 50-80 depending on what I need. I usually try to keep it around 50 but if I need meat for dinner its usually more expensive

I go grocery shopping twice a month and usually spend around $100 each time so that's $200 a month on groceries for myself.

I spend about $60-70 per month (but almost half of that is for cat food and litter). .Just for myself I spend about $40 a month lately, so that's about $10 per week.

I would love to know how on earth this is possible?? Unless you are eating out for a lot of your meals and not including that...?

It's really tough ( I was laid off, so I really have no choice). And no, I never eat out unless it's a holiday and somebody else is paying for it.

Most days I will have a piece of bread, some salted broccoli, and then rice or some egg beaters and a potato or maybe some beans. This keeps my daily costs under $1.5-2

Although I'm not getting complete nutrition (no way around that), I am at least meeting my minimum calorie requirements on most days. I also take a multi-vitamin.

That doesn't mean I don't splurge. Once a month I'll let my mom buy me some veggie burgers or something, and I try to make them last. Last week, she surprised me with milk! Yay!

EDIT: (And before you suggest food stamps, know that I've tried very hard to get them, but I'm not eligible because I have more than $2000 in savings which I have to use to pay my mortgage, and that disqualifies me)

Wow. Good for you, that blows my mind. I think it is quite a bit more expensive where I live, but for $10/week I could maybe buy a loaf of bread and some broccoli. Still don't really know how you survive lol.

I dunno where you live, but I live in Southern California (Orange County), and it is incredibly expensive. I'm lucky to have found a Farmer's Market with very very cheap potatoes and broccoli. Doesn't it suck that there is such a premium on something as basic as food? :(
