How much do you spend on groceries each week?
Just out of curiosity, how much $$ worth of food do you eat each week? I feel like I'm spending way too much on groceries so I want to see if I am about average or not!
Well I live in northern Alberta in a city which only exists because of the oil and gas industry, and where the average person makes about $150,000+/year (I most certainly do not however). So the price of everything is inflated. Not to mention 6% federal sales tax on everything...good ol' Canadians.
Ouch! I'd be dead by now for sure. :P
I spend about $125 a week for me, my husband and our 2 year old. Tonnes of fruits and veggies, and I clip coupons! I don't know how some of you spend so little! We shop at Shaw's, I don't know if that's a big chain I just moved here from Canada.
whole foods is so expensive, I wish I could shop there! sometimes I go just to make my own almond butter, love those nut butter machines.
We used to spend about 75-80/week on groceries, but since I am trying to buy healthier things, we are spending about 125/week.
How are some of you guys just shopping twice a month? Most of my veggies and fruits dont last two weeks (not that we eat them all....I mean they go bad)!!
I shop multiple times a week, and I keep groceries in those green bags that they sell on TV (and in stores), this way they stay fresh longer.
We spend about 100-120 when we go, but we go to the store every other week.
I spend about $80/month and $25/week so approximately $45/week.
Kind of expensive for just one person, but cheaper than spending money on fast food and a million times better for me.

I'm one of those twice a month shoppers (I HATE shopping so I only go on pay days). I get some fresh fruits & veggies..they usually last a week..then the second week it's canned or frozen. I know it's not the healthiest but it saves me from running to the store. As for milk I get the furthest expiration date possible. And the wheat bread I get usually lasts for weeks.

There is no GST on regular grocery items, junk food aside.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
