That's what I've heard!
I love hot and spicy food too.
I Just googled it and this is what i found...

Hot spicy foods raise your metabolism. And because of that body will burn more calories.
Eat chilli peppers, jalapenos, cayenne peppers ...
Well this is not a myth like many people think.
Capsaicin is contained in chilli peppers.
Capsaicin energizes the gastric juice glands and ensures that harmful bacteria in the digestive tract is killed.
In addition the red peppers bring stomach and intestine in momentum and provide better food digesting.
Research also shows that cayenne peppers increase production of epinephrine and norepinephrine which together decrease appetite
Wow! Bring on the hot sauce!
WOOHOO!!! a food product that i LOVE that is good for me!!! :) i'm just gonna keep on spicing things up then! :)
Ive heard the same thing so I have started putting red pepper in my eggwhite omelettes! I love the flavor it gives!
I never knew that, but I'm sure glad it helps, I looooovvvee spicy food.... bring on the wasabi!
I've actually taken red pepper supplements before when I was having some stomach troubles and they are great for certain digestive tract issues. I also love spicy food as well :) Unfortunately most of the foods I used to love all the spice in weren't so good for me lol, but I think I'll start adding some hot peppers maybe to my soups or something and see how that works out.
i'm the weird kind of person who puts red pepper flakes in soup, eggs, everything! i can't get enough! :)

This is great news! I love hot peppers of all kinds, in any form. Hot peppers are their own food group at my house.
I'm going to take  a bottle of hot sauce with me to work tomorrow.  It goes on lots of things...eggs, meatloaf, etc.  I can't wait to use it...I don't know why I haven't done this before!
I put peppers and roasted red pepper flakes in like everything. bring on the spicy!
