i have a medical condition, and it is stressing me out. The specialist I am seeing cant figure out why I have it. Treatment isnt working, and... so now I am resorting to other stuff. I had a "healing" session done, and was informed of some interesting things about my past live that is causing this. On one hand, I am usually very scientific but... I know the people who helped me, and they would never in a million years lie to me. In their mind, they believe it 100%, so I am willing to approach this with an open mind. I know that since the session, I have been a lot calmer, and sleeping better.
If what you're looking for is more peace and relaxation, yoga and meditation are great. No hocus-pocus magical thinking required. If what youre looking for is a cure for your condition, Id say try to find a second opinion from another specialist.

I am just curious to see if anyone here believes in past lives, reincarnation, fortune telling etc.
Nope.
(But I do hope your medical condition improves!)
No, I don't believe in any of that. Also, regarding psychics...I just don't get the thrill of it. Why pay somebody to tell you stuff that you already know? Fortune tellers, come on now.
I am sorry to hear about your medical condition, and yes I do tarot cards, have had my future/past looked into, reincarnation yes who knows. I also have my Reiki master certificate.
So I have nothing against any of this, BUT!, please be aware that the majority of people start to seek this kind of stuff when they are searching for an answer/cure, and therefore vulnerable.
So I know you are trying to find the answer to your medical condition, but please don't take anything literally, if it points you in the right direction to find the answer then great, but don't hang hopes on it.
As for going for a healing! I am not sure what kind you are talking about, but no spiritual healing actually heals you and anyone who practises it and claims that it does is a LIAR! It should never take the place of your Dr.
Reiki creates a relaxed state of mind/body which in turn promotes "Healing" not because it has magical powers, but because your body operates better when it is relaxed......that's it. Yes I used it instead of painkillers for my periods and things like that, and it works a treat, because it causes the muscles to relax, it does nothing else, it's not healing the cause of the pain (which I have reasons for the pain).
Anyway I am rambling, If you are not used to working with this kind of stuff please be very careful, and I am not suggesting that anyone would intentionally lie to you, but don't take it literally......please.
Remember.......it's a guide it's not the answer, and healing is a relaxation of mind and body, it's not a cure.
I believe in karma etc. and I would keep an open mind. Whatever your karma does not mean that you can't get it sorted. Everything is made of energy and gifted people can tap into levels of energy that we cannot. I have been to 3 within 4 years in my life and they all pretty much came up with consistent interpretations.
I wonder if a consultation with a certified Chinese accupuncturist would be worth you while. Often ailments can be due to blockages in the energy pathways - Different energy pathways are linked to different parts of the body. So while you may have an ailment in one part it could be where a particular energy meridian is blocked and mean that another part of you altogethor is suffering even though it may not be complaining directly. Science is only now begining to understand these energy pathways (which the East have based their medicines on for 1000's of years) and, actually, the energy fields in our live foods.
I think you need to be careful when searching for answers to your condition. I'm not suggesting that these people are taking advantage, just that in cases like this a lot of times the "treatment" works because we want it to. If you believe in something so much or rely on it too much then we often trick ourselves into believing it's doing something so that we're not just wasting our time. Like I said earlier, it could be that your stress and anxiety are making things worse and that if you lower them, the medical treatments from your doctor will be more effective and thus you could be cured. Please don't mistake that for your alternative ways curing you. Think of them as a supplement to medical practice, not a substitute.
I do hope you find relief!
Be very careful when delving into things such as healing sessions or any such thing. There are a lot of people out there who will take advantage of your vulnerability.

I won't discount anything 100%. I find these things to be unlikely, but I can't prove they don't exist. Kind of like God.
I have no experiences with any of those things.
The power of psychosomatic healing is something I do believe in, though. Unlike yachtracer, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss these people you are dealing with as ill-intentioned.
I am a Christian and those things are all very much against my beliefs. If you need extra help in the healing department, I would pray and ask others to pray for you. I don't know what your religious beliefs are, but I would suggest reading the Bible and becoming closer to God. If you don't believe in God, do some reading anyway, give it a chance and see what happens.
Best of luck and I'll send a prayer your way :).
As evidenced by:
"I don't know what your religious beliefs are, but I would suggest reading the Bible and becoming closer to God."
Seriously? Youre using this as an opportunity to try to convert her??
bluegirl & amg26: I didnt look at it that way...It seemed like she was just trying to help. Everybody has their own ways of doing that. Hers is through prayer. Nothing wrong with that, and that was hardly an attempt to convert her.
Thanks lippygal.
I hope I didn't offend anyone because that was definitely not my intention.

If she had left this out:

I'd agree with you.
As for me, I had a telepathic experience once. I heard this girl's name in my head before she told it to me. I didn't know this girl and I didn't hear anyone else say her name before I met her.

That part was merely a suggestion, which is what the original post asked for. Still hardly an attempt to convert somebody. Clearly she wasn't sure of her religion in the first place which is why she stated that first, and if she was Christian then her suggestion would have fit quite nicely.

She is suggesting that the OP try out her religion, that is a conversion attempt. Not a very stong one, but still a conversion attempt. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, mind you. I'm just saying it was a conversion attempt.

Yea, we disagree. I didnt think that was a conversion attempt at all.

Then you disagree with the definition of convert:

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
