Spiro-I remember how much you loved..

..the Fitflops.  Now Reebok and Sketchers are making "exercise" shoes that do the same thing the Fitflops do.  Just thought I'd let you know!

Bump....You missed this...

So what are Fitflops?

A marketing device.

They say that walking in these shoes will burn calories. They don't mention that walking in any shoes (or without) burns calories. Most likely a similar number of calories.

I remembered that Spiro had started a discussion about the Fitflops when they first came out.  I thought all of the response to a shoe that helped exercise your legs was so funny.  When I saw that Reebok and Sketchers were now marketing a shoe that helps tone your legs and burn calories, I just had to let her know!!

Really Amethystgirl.  You're so skeptical.  Right from their web site:

"The FitFlop mid footbed is made of a soft, wide section of EVA that creates a slightly unstable platform for the foot.  The instability forces the muscles in the legs to switch "on" for longer to ensure balance and deliver a workout while you walk"

It's like walking around with two bosu balls strapped to your feet!  Can't you see? This is a revolution in footwear and exercise!  If only you could wear these to the gym so you could squat and dead lift in them!  Spread the word and before you know it, maybe all the barbell-squat-rack-curlers, cardio-bunnies and machine weight lifters will see the light and wear these instead of coming to the gym.  Then our gyms will have to get some power racks for those of us dinosaurs who choose to stick with the old, clunky ineffective barbells and free weights.  Heck we could fill the aerobics room with power racks.
