spirochete to cyclists: I HATE YOU. I hate you so much and I hate your next 15 generations

Quote  |  Reply

I hope your bikes melt down and your little helmets crack and and you lose a bike seat up your butt.

Do you ride on the bike path RIGHT NEXT TO THE STREET? HELL NO! You ride right in the street and hold up traffic.

Do you ride single file as traffic goes by? HELL NO! You ride in pairs while blocking traffic and we're all at your mercy driving at bicycle speed for miles on end.

Do you ride in a responsible manner? HELL NO! You cry that you have just as much right to the street as I do in my car yet you run EVERY SINGLE stop sign, turn without signaling and whatever illegal maneuvers you can think up while wearing a Doritos branded spandex team shirt.

I seriously hate cyclists so much.

What about lorry drivers? I was outside a bike shop today having just got my new clip pedals fitted, bit nervous and practicing in the carpark and some lorry driver quite unneccessarily honked his horn like bap bap baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap and screamed 'watch yourself you silly bitch'. I was in an almost empty carpark pootling at like 5 miles an hour and there was plenty of room for him and no need for that.

One of the secretaries in our office got hit by a car last night while she was on her bike.  Luckily no broken bones, just scraped up and shaken up ... and bike destroyed, of course.  She's lost about 100 pounds since I started working there a year ago.

No word on the cause of the accident.

Did anybody see that news story about Bob Novak hitting a pedestrian and not stopping?  A cyclist had to chase him down and get him to stop.

Just sayin.

Carry on.

I can't hate drunk drivers ... they are job security.

Yeah thank God for those drunk drivers, us moms talk about that a lot.

At least 99% of the time drunk drivers don't hurt anybody, which is less than I can say for the people with anger problems.

My son is getting his driver's license soon and I was just thinking "I hope there will continue to be enough drunk drivers on the road so lysistrata doesn't get bored at work"

It will be good for him to recognize the need to be defensive on the road.  Maybe put him on a bicycle for a while to train him.

Don't you worry about my son, you just worry about enough drivers being under the influence to keep a big smile on your face

I'm always smiling!  :-D
It would be good if he could use common sense to decide the root of a problem, instead of using emotion, testimonials, and statistics to make right things seem wrong.........

Well, what most people don't know is that a bicycle on the road must follow the same rules and regulations as a car! So, technically, they should be getting tickets for traffic violations! But, where are you going to find a cop who is going to issue a ticket? Ah, the times I wish I was a cop, oooooh! I'd be pulling over EVERYBODY!! HAHAHAHAHA!

"Congrats, m0m6, we would like to promote you to Detective and give you a big, fat raise"

HELL NO keep me on traffic duty!

Oh, I think most people know the rules.  And they certainly are applied to cyclists in appropriate situations, just like sometimes drivers get a ticket and sometimes they get a warning.

You'd be surprised! I see people riding their bikes on the sidewalk, in crosswalks, against traffic, without headlights after dark. All sorts of things. Not using proper hand signals or stopping at a stop sign are just a few.

I'm just checking in on this trhead to see who has pissed the farthest up the wall.
"Knowing" the rules and "following" the rules are different things.  Everybody knows you're not supposed to rob and murder people, but some folks do it anyway.

Every driver can see the posted speed limit, but some of them choose to exceed it.

Cyclists who choose to selectively follow the rules are equally as annoying as drivers who selectively follow the rules, only they have much less potential to injure another person when they do so.
I now have 4 bike friends that have all gotten tickets >$200 for "rolling" through stop signs. I just wanted to put that out there to possibly make some of you shut your trap.

Not all cyclists are perfect all of the time, some get penalized--no different than cars.

There's a game called bloody knuckles--if you're familiar with it, then it would describe this thread. We consistently take turns punching eachother knuckles-to-knuckles, to the point of blood, but it's just so much fun, you continue despite the pain.

My dad got a $10 ticket when he was 7 years old for not using proper hand signals while riding his bike. True, this was 1951.

the police where i live put out a statement recently saying that they're going be giving out more tickets to cyclists for not obeying traffic laws

but what i think is super funny about this thread is that i get ads for jewish biking communities and stuff at the bottom of the page -- so the anti-cycling thread ends up being like a stealth advertising device for cycling

Laughing

It's a big conspiracy, Nomo.  Cyclists are planning on taking over the world!

*evil laugh*
