That Splenda Ad is annoying!

I know that we have to have the advertisements and that they keep this site and all of it's benefits free, but that Splenda ad is really driving me crazy!  It's always opening up over what I'm trying to read or covering up the area that I'm trying to use to add food to my log.  I don't mind the ads most of the time, but this one is really getting on my nerves.  Anyone else having this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Hate the ad.  Hate it Hate it.   Make it go away.  Don't buy Splenda.  It makes you fat. 

I never see the ads that get everyone so worked up.  The ads you see depend on what topics you are posting on.  They search for key words and display ads accordingly.

Best advice, if they bother you get an ad blocker.

The ads themselves don't bother me.  It's when they pop out over the screen and interfere with using that site that they get on my nerves.  I haven't got a problem with seeing ads, I just hate the ones that get in my way.

Take a screen shot of it and send it to the contact link.  Tose ads are not suppose to be on c-c and just got through the filters.

If they keep appearing,log out of c-c, delete your cookies, turn off your computer and then relog in.  Those ads always leave cookies on your computer.

ahaha i know what you mean. I hate the ad's that slow my internet down because they are a big file size.

Internet advertising is a bit different.  You can't cherry pick the ads for your site; however, I think that there is some veto power.  I've already mentioned that the expanding ads are super annoying, but anyone else who wants to add their 2 cents should feel free to use the "contact us" link to voice their opinion.

If you think the ad is inappropriate for this site it's possible that it slipped in through the cracks, so it's worth taking a screen shot and mentioning it.  Sometimes something can be done about certain ads and other times not.

If you download Firefox and use that instead of Internet Explorer you can get Ad Block Plus which blocks out almost every ad on the internet.  Firefox is safer than Internet Explorer too.

Holy Cow! I've had Firefox forever but have never installed Adblock Plus until just now - all the ads went away instantly!

I have never had a problem with the ads before, but this splenda ad is extremely annoying, and I usually only add my foods here and post in the fitness forum.  How could these key words tag splenda for me, I don't eat fat free spelnda or artificial foods, I don't understand how I could of gotten taged for this particular ad.

Well, I'm definitely going to send a message to the contact link.  I had one for Hoover vacuums jump out at me a couple of days ago.  Grr!

So happy to see others complaining about that stupid ad!  I sent an e-mail last week to Calorie Count expressing my annoyance with that stupid thing.  I don't mind ads, I don't care about splenda...but when it's constantly in my way...ANNOYING!!!

 yeah... ads don't bug me so much except with they jump right in the middle of what you're doing like the splenda one does.      ....those are the ones that i almost always accidentally click on!!  i don't click on ads, except for the ones that jump out in the middle of your screen  :/

I was wondering when someone might mention it...YES, It's also driving me CRAZY. Another reason for me not to buy/use splenda...their ads are super annoying.

I'm hating that stupid thing too!  The last thing I need is an add going across my logs showing a plate of chocolate chip cookies.  I have never wanted to buy Splenda.  Do they really think that getting on my nerves is the best way to get me to buy their product?

Oh my gosh, I almost complained about the cookie part too! Every time I see those cookies it triggers a sweet craving and I am trying sooo hard to avoid my triggers right now.  :(

But that's just the nature of advertising. The fact that the images make me hungry for cookies just proves they did a good job with it, so I bit my tongue about that.

The pop-out aspect, however, is wholly unnecessary.

I did report this annoyance, and this morning I got a reply.  They have received many complaints about it and are "working" on it to get the matter resolved.

thanks a lot     Never had trouble with it, till I read this thread and lol,  seconds later, the Splenda ad crawled across my page .

Realized it could be that I never have time for forums and only this weekend, spent mmore time on here.

That add has got to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that stupid add doesnt make you want to go buy splenda it makes you want to binge on cookies!!!

Splenda is the devil!
