Splenda with fiber & added fiber in foods: A good idea?
What do people think about this? I think it's sort of a genius idea. I use 1-2 Splendas a day and now with the one with fiber I get a nice 1-2g extra fiber per day. Yay!
Do you think they should start adding extra fiber to lots of foods/drinks?
No. It comes back to "everything in moderation". Just because something is good for you doesn't mean large amounts of it is still good for you.
i stick to regular food myself. i don't really like to have more chemicals than i have to (it's almost unavoidable in most foods already). so sugar and fruits/veg/whole grains/legumes do it for me.
Fiber seems to be so very trendy these days. Fiber this, fiber that.
(I shamefully admit to be a big fan to Fiber One stuff, though. You can't blame a gal, that stuff is TASTY!)
I wonder if anyone really poops anymore. After getting so much fiber, don't you start to get.. *ahem* backed up? o_o;
umneydurak is right, moderation is key.
Actually you only get backed up if you eat an enormous amount and don't consume enough water. I eat upwards of 25 g a day (what we are supposed to eat for a healthy colon) and never get backed up! Fiber keeps the colon regular, that's the point of it.
