Split Pea Soup Stew, Yellow or Green Recipe

1 cup = 147 cals = 1 serving stew like soup!

Ingredients
49 oz chicken broth, swanson
16 oz split peas, green or yellow
1 large potato, diced
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 large carrots, shredded
1 cup celery, thinly sliced
8 cups water, add more as needed
1 tbs garlic, fresh and spice to taste
16 oz tomatoes, crushed
1 oz lean ham, smoked finely slivered
Directions
  1. spice to taste, bring to boil and simmer on low heat until all tender, about 1 hour.

  2. Will be more like stew although water may be added as preferred.

  3. May substitute low sodium or sodium free broth.
