SPRING into action (again) with a Motivational MARCH!!!

Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there. ~ Josh Billings

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.  ~ Carl Bard

I don't know about the rest of you, but my healthy weight loss in February was less than I had hoped for, and I am feeling the urge, the need, the desire, and the drive to SPRING into action (yet again) with a MOTIVATIONAL MARCH! Warmer weather is coming and with it comes shorts and t-shirts and tank tops and (gasp!) ... bathing suits ... and I really don't want a repeat of last summer's pale, beached-whale phenomenon that I saw when I'd accidentally glance in a passing mirror. Nope, nuh huh, no way. THIS summer, I want to look and feel and be much HEALTHIER!!!

Soooo ..... I've decided that I'm going to set some firm goals for myself for March, and do what I can to achieve them.  After all, March represents springtime ... new beginnings .... new birth .... new growth.  (Not to mention basketball playoffs, but that's really not my thing!)

MY MARCH MOTIVATIONAL GOALS

  • Lose 6 pounds (that's 1.5 per week)
  • Exercise at least 5 days per week
  • Make a concerted effort to drink more water
  • Watch my fiber intake and keep it where I want it to be
  • Get some fresh air and sunshine (assuming the sun cooperates) DAILY.
  • Try at least one new healthy food.
  • Try at least one new spice.
  • Encourage at least three people every day.
  • Post more in my friend's journals.
  • Resolve to experience and enjoy all that springtime has to offer. (Take time to stop and smell the roses, or whatever is blooming!)

What are YOU going to do??

Ooh, so much to do!

MY MARCH MOTIVATIONAL GOALS

  • Lose 5lbs
  • Exercise 6 days a week
  • Go to the gym 4 days a week
  • Drink 2 litres a day of water
  • Smile more
  • Attempt to save some money
  • Celebrate spring!

Alicandra, those are great goals! (I need to save money, too!)

MOLLY

I'm in maintenance mode, but I do have a goal for March:

- Get outside and walk and/or run on any day that is above 40 degrees and not raining or snowing

Due to crappy weather and stressful work situation, I slacked off completely in February. Haven't gained back any weight, but I feel icky without the exercise. :-(

So far, so good: I walked 30 minutes yesterday and today!
* walk outside 5 days w/new gym shoes that 'fit' 'me'.
* elliptical machine a few times a week.
* drink more water than I am now.
* eat an apple a day
* Don't get down when everyone else looses weight better than me.
* read my bible everyday and claim the promise it will be health to all my flesh.  Especially my thryoid.
* Go to bed earlier like 12:30-1am.  Not 2-3am

To recap:
the end of Dec. and all of Jan. I started a walking program lost 4#'s
I thought I had finally found my formula.
Feb. I went at it just as hard if not harder and gained back the 4#'s.
March came and I was extra busy with family.  After all I just moved back.  My hormones were off due to thyroid.  Took extra thyroid last night and feel so much better.  Having your thyroid off takes the wind out of your sail.  So, I'm wanting to get back on track.
I wonder if that's why I had so many calories yesterday being so tired and thyroid off track.  ayayayay

Today is a new day.  That week is behind me.  I feel better.  Still groggy.  But I'm coming out of it.

I will:

  • continue the apple a day challenge
  • walk 5000 steps on my pedometer daily (at least)
  • buy some new clothes with non-elastic waistbands and in some new bright colours to celebrate spring (which we desperately need here ... another huge snow and ice storm on the way for this evening thru tomorrow morning)
  • try new foods - getting tired of the ones I keep cooking and DH, while not complaining, is suggesting some changes
  • add another repetition to my weight routine - am doing 3 reps of 10 and will now go to 4 reps of 10 and hopefully by the end of the month go to 12
  • celebrate that I feel better, am off some meds and looking forward to a slowy shrinking body

What fantastic springtime March goals!!!!

WE CAN DO THIS!!!

=^..^= MOLLY

MARCH GOALS 1. realize eating an entire bag of peanut butter hershey kisses is not going to make me hear from grad school any sooner! 2. get back to the gym 5 days a week 3. eat more veggies 4. eat less salt!!!!! 5. when it gets nice take long walks and explore the city i've lived in for 4 years and have seen nothing of! 6. loose at least 4 pounds 7. try to be a nicer less grouchy person!
