Not a very encouraging start, but really I did well the whole week, except for yesterday! Just shows me that constant vigilance is what's needed, not stuffing whatever I want into my mouth, willy nilly.
Next week should be better :)

I'm sure a lot of that weight was water! I did horribly the first weigh in week and weekend, but did awesome this past week and for the first time EVER was able to maintain during the weekend! *woo hoo, doin' the happy dance!*I do well every weekday and come the weekend, I turn into this eating machine, and I wonder why my weight loss has been sooooo slow! I had to talk my way through every meal Sat. and Sun. to stay on track! Geesh, I'm hoping that it's just a matter or reprogramming myself to not think that weekends are dates with food!![]()

There are some people who don't get any relief from the injections. I'm one! They have always irritated my discs. I go to my pain mgt dr to get it done and he uses fluoroscope to do it, with an x-ray to make sure it's in the right place. My BP drops every time I've gotten one. This is a new site, so maybe it'll be better tihs time around. BUT I'll always have more pain for a few days just because of how my discs are. After 3-7 days I'll know if it's worked any. Keeping my fingers crossed! This is a herniated disc he's messing with.
{snip}
Sorry to hear that you are not responding to the injections. My L4-L5 disc does but my C4-C5 didn't and after 3, the doc recommended seeing a neurosurgeon but as time went by, my rt arm got better and I think it is due to consistent exercise, backstroke in the pool. Doc will now consider another injection.
Good luck with your next one.
I need to be in as many of these as possible. It keeps me going.

For 11 days I yo-yo'd between 193 & 192 then, bam, this morning I finally break it. I've noticed this same pattern 2 other times during my 7 weeks of weight-loss effort.
Got a new Elliptical trainer on Saturday and I love it! For the first time in 20+ years I am working out!
Hi, I am just joining you guys this week. I need to get back on track and start logging in my calories and activity. I do o.k. with food but love my wine and on the weekends tend to overdo it.

Woo hoo is right! Good job talking yourself through the weekend - you've done it one weekend and now you know you can do it again :) You should feel very proud ![]()
Good afternoon ladies! Tammy...I tagged the group last week, but thouht I'd wait til weigh in day to introduce myself :)
A lil about me:
I'm 24, 5ft 7, medium build. I was at my heaviest in college...topping off at around 227lb dropped to about 170 by July of 2005...then it's slowly crept back on...so...started getting back into exercise etc last September when I hit 207 again...joined CC when I was around 195lb in feb of last year. Since then I've slowly shaved off another 20lb...feels like tortoise speed sometimes! but I've kept it off. I am to what I know/have heard is the hardest part of the journey...the last 15-20lb! Today is day one of rededicating myself to that final loss/keeping up the gym habit and keeping my eating on track!
In my last few challenge groups...I've made the mistake of aiming just a little too high...and only making it halfway (or less than that!) to my goal...so I'm going to set an initial goal for the beginning of may...which is 2+ months away...and then re-evaluate in a month to see how I'm doing.
Starting Weight (for this challenge): 173.2lb
Preliminary goal for the group: 165lb

Better than a gain though, and that is what I've been doing lately! Trying to lose it, just having issues with my snacking getting out of hand.
WELCOME TO THE NEWCOMERS!
SOME OF YOU ARE DOING SOOOOO WELL! lOSING MORE THAN 2 POUNDS SOME OF YOU! YAY!!!!!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!!
I'd like to join this challenge as well.
I am a SAHM of six. My oldest is getting married in June.
I lost 20 lbs last year from Feb-Aug. Then, I found out I have asthma and quit exercising. Needless to say, I gained all the weight back plus 10 lbs. Finally, a doctor put me on advair and I am trying this again.
Mamamia, I have similar stats to you. I am 42 and weigh 197.5 down from my heaviest ever of 204.5. I walk on a treadmill and am beginning the stair stepper.

Johngar do we have similar weight stories or what (see profile)????!!! Now we weigh the exact same! Maybe we can try and motivate one another!
Tammy, good job not gaining! That's just a hard a challenge as losing!
Let's do it!!!
Starting Weight (for this challenge): 151 (this is a good starting point for me)
Goal Weight: 145 (this is realistic for my weight loss pattern and will give me a normal BMI.)
Weigh in dates:
2/16 - 151
2/23 - 150 (- 1lb )
I am very happy with my progress this first week. Good luck this week everyone!
wants2bhot - I know...I just noticed that we have similar goals for this challenge! I'm always down for a motivation buddy!
It's funny Tammy because even though you are stuck (and I know you and I have been stuck for a while)...wants2bhot reminds me of something I say when playing blackjack at the casinos...which is "a push is a win" lol...basically if you break even, you're still winning...not losing :)
congrats to everyone who is losing...I'll be in that boat next week! :)
